Coach's ever get fired this close to start of season?

Is anyone else tired of hearing "core values" being stated all the time? Not just by Coach Golden but others? Love how words get "trendy".

Blake is an employee, and major decisions like firing a football coach would be discussed with and likely approved by the BOT and Donna. Besides, Golden was never getting fired this season, and that was not Blake's decision.
 
Has a major college program ever had a combination of a coaching staff THIS bad combined with one of the worst administrations in the history of college sports to start a season?

I mean...they should be proud. You have to really try to have that kind of level of ineptness all employed in one department.
