Billy Furman Profile

Billy Furman is in his third year working with the Miami Hurricanes football program and his first as quality control. He*supports head coach Al Golden with the special teams.

Prior to his current role, Furman spent his first two years at UM as the defensive graduate assistant. He assisted Mark D'Onofrio with game plans, scouting reports, practice scout teams and quality control.

He arrived in Coral Gables after spending three years as the offensive student assistant at Temple University, where he assisted the offensive coordinator with game plans and scouting reports. He was a member of the Temple staff that led the Owls to their first bowl game in 30 years, while also claiming the 2009 MAC East Division Co-Champions crown.

His coaching career began in 2004 as Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, W.Va. He was the offensive line assistant and video coordinator for the Rams for three seasons. In 2007, he was the running backs coach at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont.

He graduated from Temple in 2011 with a degree in broadcast telecommunications and mass media. He attended Shepherd University for one year in 2003 and was a quarterback for the Rams, but he redshirted after a career-ending shoulder injury.

National recruiting coordinator isn't a coaching position. He would still need one. Co-WR coach? Passing game coordinator?
