"tremendous pressure" is an interesting choice of words. Not sure where this pressure is coming from.

Don't see how a 10th coach, esp. a defensive one, and changing support staff is going is going to make much of a difference. And these changes aren't the result of "tremendous pressure".

So how interesting is it going to get???

Saw the coaches and what does "Football Creative Director" even means?
 
Itll be an internal hire. No one on the defensive staff has any kind of coaching tree like Diaz had with Patke. And no one who’s coached under Richt previously is coming here to coach the Strikers. It’ll be a defensive GA who is promoted, it’ll be underwhelming, and it’ll be another step in the road to getting worse.

He doesn’t want to take a chance on anyone that will come in and physically take the ball away from him again. I honestly think you have a guy that was ready to retire and live off of his buyout then maybe look at an AD position until we came along throwing money at him. I am picturing the entire family in a room saying ARE YOU SERIOUS!?

Is anyone else wondering how the admin is going to top the Richt hire once he is finally gone? Every time I think we can’t possibly do anything more stupid and will actually finally make a good hire we go full ******.

It’s has nothing to do with not wanting DVD it has to do with we need experience on this staff. It is the blind leading the blind plus Richt.

I have two questions about Richt and his future as the head coach. In your opinion is Blake James as incompetent as many assume?

If Miami flops in 2019 like 2018 do we have the administration(Julio and BOT) prepared to fire Richt and/or James or does Richt have them all wrapped around his finger.[/QUOTE]

You don't need to go to far out on the limb hiring DVD has been talked about for weeks. It would be a cheap hire that would make no sense which makes it a sure thing.

I don't know what @MedleyCane knows but the UAB coach is a Miami Norland guy and was part of the UGA program in 2015 when Richt was there. He was analyst at FSU before that. So Richt has hired him once before. And of course the twitter connection: Banda recently followed him and he follows both Patke and Banda. So guessing him as the next hire would be as good as any.

If we're gonna believe The Artist Formerly Known as BrooklynDee nonsense about Richt not wanting to hire from the outside to protect his **** show? Then the next best thing would be hiring a guy you've already hired and probably trust.

Just a hunch as an outsider for reasons given by droneld29 above.
Also, in addition to previous ties to Richt at UGA and twitter follows, he is a Miami fella, having played
at Carol City HS, and he also coached at Trailerhassee Godby.
Sounds like a good match for UM and him as well.
