When their boosters don't have to cover the $0 (boosters off-setting about $45M per year of lost revenue) that they get from the conference and they're actually collecting a check from the ACC, they'll start landing whoever they want. It'll be one of the best jobs in the country. Talent rich area, great school, incredible financial backing, and I'm sure Rhett is loving living on White Rock Lake right there 10 min from campus

You'd never catch me in the pressure cooker of Auburn football or the dead end that is Arkansas. Both have endless money and hardly anything to show for it.

Easier path to a CFP is SMU. No two ways about it. Play in the CFP 1-2 more times and take a better P2 job than ARK.

Grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

delusions of grandeur from the fans/school
This is incorrect IMO, I have a daughter that goes there and they're one of the easiest going fanbases you'll ever be around. They know where they stand in the pecking order. If you can win 8 games, they would be ecstatic.
I went to the ND game and only half of the people I interacted with wanted Pittman fired after that.

Oh, NSIAP, but Lashlee is from Springdale, which is 15 minutes from campus; he has ties to the area, from what I read.

He’s got much better support in SMU than he’d ever get at Auburn.

Arkansas is dead in the water, but they’ve got talent.

Staying at SMU will be the key to his long term success as a corch.
Correct. He would be foolish to go to Auburn.

It would cost LSU over 50 million to fire Kelly plus another 4-5 million for the staff buyout and then whatever it would take to hire a new staff.

They don’t got that kind of scratch. Of course knowing those Cajuns, a dead hooker in the trunk is never off the table.

Most likely, Kelly sacrifices his OC Joe Sloan and buys himself another couple of seasons ala what he did with his DC a couple years ago. When the buyout is down to $25-30 then watch out,.
Props to you for using "dead hooker" and "trunk" in the same sentence. (y)(y)(y)

Arkansas is stuck in purgatory. Yes they have a fanbase and big money boosters, but they have schools immediately next to them with just as big of fanbases and moneyed boosters. The state of Arkansas also produces much less talent than people think. Their recruiting strategy has basically been fighting for 3/4 star scraps in TX/OK/LA, and whatever talent pops up in Arkansas/the Memphis area. Whoever takes that job better accept the fact that they are likely gone in 3 years due to delusions of grandeur from the fans/school. They'll probably make a lazy hire and keep Petrino lol.
have no idea why they dnt recruit this state harder to supplement some talent.

Bielema did (he has his whole career), Chad Morris was a hardcore Texas guy, Pittman tried to get some kind of Georgia pipeline going but had middling results.

They got this big Chaminade OL committed, idk if he stays though with the new staff.

If they hire Lashlee I expect them to become huge recruiters down here

Arkansas has money money boosters and they have won high stakes recruiting battles the last couple of years. If they get the right HC, no reason why they can’t take Missouri’s program. Not a NC threat but a perennial threat to win 10 games and make the playoffs. Arkansas is also a more coach friendly job than say Auburn or LSU, just look at how long they have Pittman. He would have been fired 18 months ago at Auburn.

They gonna offer someone 8+ million, plus staff and NIL resources. People gonna be lining up for the job.
Can’t forget, they basically gave Calipari the checkbook cause he wouldn’t stop whining about UK’s NIL program. Not saying that was good hire, but the truth is they’ll pay and well.

Arkansas has to be the worst job to take maybe after Mississippi state. Probably right on par with usce

I don’t know how many big time programs will be looking for a HC but I’d target Rhett. However, if rumors start floating that he might leave I can see SMU pony’ing up a ton of money to keep him.

No, it is still Vandy. Even with Diego Pavlia, opposing fans still outnumber Vandy fans at home games.

Next year without him is gonna be rough

Franklin may have reached his ceiling, but seriously is a two-game skid is worth getting fired and a $50 million buyout, plus perhaps buying out the coaching assistance staff later, plus buying out someone else’s head coach and staff.

I know they lost three in a row, but losing to Oregon in OT is not shameful, even at home. Maybe the vibe in Happy Valley is so unhappy the team is about to call it a season and tank.

I would ask, who are you going to get that’s better? No guarantees of course, but you’re not gonna find someone with a better resume.
