COACHING/ADMIN UPDATES MEGGGGAAAAAAATHREAD

After the draft theres time off.

College is on field , off field and political bs. Once again the nfl is nothing but ootball . That’s why you go into coaching , because you love it. College coaching is only half the gig. My high school coaches slept in the office, because they loved it. I’ve heard too many coaches to count say that college has way too much bs to deal with before you even get to the coaching part. You‘re a politician , a coach , recruiter , and a baby sitter 247. Ask any coach and he’ll tell you he wants to be gameplanning , watching film or prepping. All the other bs is what sucks. The nfl doesn’t have all the bs.
yeah, wasnt trying to make a counterpoint, just saying things a different between the two levels.

I think the stars align now for Mario in so many ways. That being said, I didn’t even think about Rhule. I’m not sure he would leave the NFL but he would be a grand slam. My distant 3rd is Kiffin.

Every time I open this thread & nothing new is taking place a little piece of me dies inside. Can’t imagine 2-0 EReed

I’m surprised Herman’s name hasn’t come up more for us. Not sure how others feel about this, but I thought it was a mistake for Texas to fire him. He had Texas going in the right direction, and seemed close to having them elite. Their 3 losses last year were by 2 points to TCU, 3 points to Iowa St, and went to triple OT with Oklahoma. Their offense has been very good the past couple seasons, really just needed to tighten up the defense. They won some big games with him - UGA in 2018, blew out #12 Utah in 2019. He was also a very good recruiter. He’s coaching as an analyst with the Chicago Bears, so no buyout. My only hesitation would be all his ties have been to Texas for a while, so would need to adjust to recruiting in FL. But potentially a hidden gem option for us.

We could do a lot worse!

Killed it at Houston (similar demographics as Miami).

This list is out there. Remember seeing it when CMR was getting ready to leave. Dig through threads around that time. Numbers/emails/ names, all that

So we blow up the program tomorrow? There won't be a kid in his right mind that comes to Miami to play in our quarter filled stadium instead of packed houses and bags at other places. I do not believe now is the time for a drastic change. We need to rally around our team until at least after the UNC game and then take another look.
So you want to wait for the inevitable? Seriously wtf is wrong with ppl

Keep your filthy mitts off Rhule.

I love the Canes, but **** off.

Wasn't there quite a bit of drama that followed him though? If I remember correctly most of their big money boosters ended up hating the guy and he had a ton of players transfer and or opt out. Definitely worth kicking the tires though, I mean the dude is literally a genius and a Mensa member.

Their boosters is why that program is toxic as **** and been a **** show for awhile. With all the money they make and spend it has to be really bad to stay mediocre this long. Before Saban Bama had the same issues.

Herman was a board favorite before we went to Texas, I recall. Man, he really flamed out. Between him and lash, lots of G5 > P5 flameouts

You think Matt Campbell and Luke Fickell are realistic for us? I wish this were true but I don’t see it. They’ve turned down better jobs from what I recall.

How so? Don't think Mario is coming without a serious commitment to football by the BoT. What have you seen or heard other than a couple of ****ed members and ranting alumnis on Twitter?
