Coach Propst on UGA cheating

This is to funny...everybody doing the same things...don’t get mad because the good ole boy schools are doing what they got to do to win...money talks ok we all know that..stop hating Miami fans & step your game up...remember slippers don’t count..UM slipped with a wanna be in Nevin(the rat)..

But i thought kids stay in school an extra year because they love the college experience and want a degree?
‘I am blown away by the fact that UGA pays kids to return to school when they could elect to go pro.
‘and of course kids leave UM after their junior years because they are stupid, greedy, and disloyal.
‘When will many of you realize that so much of what we argue is good coaching/recruiting/culture is nothing more than paying players to come to a school and stay there for 4-5 years. If UM had the “booster budget” of these larger schools we would be perennially in the top 5
I agree with most of your sentiments, but please explain how they are disloyal.

But not the right way. Once he started paying family’s monthly and outbidding Alabama, we all knew it was getting dangerous. They are so loud and obvious. He never should have let Coley leave. He’ll get to regret that on a public stage. Clemson is becoming loud too. Alabama is amazing. Everyone knows and they don’t crack. LSU has always been a **** show. Florida is cheep and is more famous for not paying what they promised 😂 who am I forgetting. In July this will all go to the next level. I can’t wait to see agents swarm campuses legally. It’s going to be insane.
TOTAL called .....5 SEC, 1 ACC.......

As much as we complain the NCAA attempts to put on a show the last big HIT on a team was SMU..

**** ole miss or miss st had a legit documentary come out too talking about cheating and not even a peep.

we aren’t big “bidders” and probably never will be... we are middle of the road but school location and history is what keeps us even and a shot and coming back
dwreck............you con't **** on your Leading man, you promote his accomplishments....
Where would College ball be without Alabaga?............Think about that?...

I don't doubt that UGA is bribing recruits, but methinks Propst is full of $h!t on UGA paying Chubb $180K to come back.

That 17' RB draft class was pretty deep, Chubb was coming back regardless.

And Chubb's people have money, they have a whole town in GA named after em'.

Plenty of people who have money want more

Respectfully, you sound like you read a lot. Lol The ncaa is toothless and a paper tiger now. However, EVERYONE is careful and has a plan for a reason. Some are better and smarter than others. Yes everyone spends lots of money. To think for a second that a single program isn’t concerned about keeping what they do private is baseless. The game will change this year, but those that are the best now, will continue to be the best at it. If you don’t think it’s dangerous to cheat in college football, you’re ignorant. The IRS and the FBI aren’t ******* around. So, you might want to sit this one out.

LOL, the FBI & IRS doesn't give a AF about Colleges paying players, that whole Operation Varsity Blues & the Adidas scandal was just a distraction from other things that were going on at the time.

The FBI and the IRS absolutely care about college athletics. You might have missed the FBI kill our basketball program over bad information. I’m not sure if you like ******* with either of them. I can only speak for myself and that’s a big no. I’m a little taken aback by this boards desire to be lawless and carefree. I do wonder, are people lying, stupid or both.

You're confusing two very different issues.

The FBI doesn't give a **** about college football kids getting paid. If they did, they wouldn't spend any time around UM. They know where the money goes and how to follow it. So the poster you responded to is correct.

That doesn't mean the FBI doesn't have other reasons to mess with UM, or that it's an inconsequential organization. The FBI tolerates treason as long as the 7th Floor likes the rationale. But that's the problem. Football in Alabama and Ohio is too politically powerful for the FBI to waste any political capital messing with unless it's tangential to some other case / purpose they're pursuing. Football in Miami, not so much. But do they care? Those guys don't care about the Constitution or the country. It's just the wrong question to ask, do they care. You're absolutely correct that we're small fry for them and easy to hang to make it look like they're doing something. If you want a FBI analogy, Saban is Whitey Bulger. We're some competitor who get taken out with his trash.

You’ve figured it all out. Your work here is done. 😂

Perhaps we are...my point,.. Is we dint know what we can do with our booster base!!

We can't even get a student a rental for the evening, without an investigation, and losing players off the roster.
Perhaps we don't have the booster base of some of the larger schools..but we do have money down there....and we have resources! ....we are unable to access any of it..without the lynch mob coming in 10 deep!!
Agreed. But those SEC boosters are so loyal to their schools that they would rather take a bullet for their team and keep their mouths shut than squeal to save themselves from any repercussions. Our boosters seem to be more about Miami than UM. I don’t trust our boosters if push came to shove

They aren’t but we label our players as disloyal for leaving early to try a pro career whereas players like Chubb get labeled as “loyal” when in fact they stayed Clemson, etc

As real as a heart attack. Me and Andrew had a spat over it a couple years ago.

Seriously?

He doesn’t think UGA pays players or that players don’t get paid in general?

What is funny in this thread is that in the past he has been Rush Propst’s biggest fan and booster on this board, but as soon as this info came out, with details about specific boosters, he immediately tried to discredit Rush.

I asked him about it, no response yet.

I think it’s an interesting discussion worth having. No hyperbole, just interested in his opinion. I’m interested in why a reasonable person could possibly take this position regarding paying players and also discrediting someone he apparently admired as a coach.

They do when it's funneled through a Church as in what Clemson is doing...

If I had to bet...i would say our local reporters would have us crucified, long before any booster could hurt us!!

We have so much stacked against us, in the "pay 2 play" scene...the powers that be, will see to it, we never get the chance to compete on an entirely level playing field.

We have a few issues...as to many of the big time programs..some can be addressed in house. Some with more money, better staff, equipment, technology, some with time, and effort!

But nothing at the moment, can fix the blatant mess, with the schools who can pay at will, without recourse,.. And everyone else!!

Two of my HS buddies for a fact got paid, went to two different schools, this was before the current modern era of multiple HS recruiting rating services, but they would have been considered mid to low 3 stars. I also know for a fact several players in Broward that have been paid, and confirmed by conversations with parents and coaches I’m acquainted with. I’m not going reveal confidences, but I don’t bullshlt about stuff like this.

I mean it’s literally been going on for decades, anybody that doesn’t believe it is totally clueless or just being dishonest.

The fbi as an institution doesn’t give two ***** about cfb kids getting paid. Some US Attorney may push an agenda here or there. Some other agendas may cross swords and cause cfb to come into the spotlight. But the sooner people realize the DOJ is the enforcement arm of the establishment the sooner they’ll understand its priorities. The ‘establishment’ is perfectly happy for football fans in footnall states to think about football and not what their government is doing to them. And remember, this is an institution that knowingly sent people to prison based on corrupt forensic testimony and even covered up for murder when the guilty party was an informant who helped them elsewhere.
