Let’s be very clear; EVERY SCHOOL HAS INCENTIVES.
Some r just on the low, while others r egregious w/ it. Smaller town areas where CFB funds their entire lives are going to be way dirtier than bigger cities, but did u not see what happened at SC to secure Bush? U think Bush was the only one broke off? No; it was that Bush’s ppl got caught up & he became the poster child of “dirty recruiting” @ SC.
This chit happens at the high school levels, too. I got stories for days about how all of these Catholic, private schools all of sudden became good, as ninjas from the hood could “afford” to go said schools.
Anyone thinking any big time program w/in the good ole boys network is going to suffer from this is naive af.
-UNC w/ the cheating scandal....what? One season “removed” from history & the FB coach fired, not the BB coach!
-Ole Miss....what? A scholly reduction for a yr or two?
-LSU *** scandal....what? A reduction of scholly?
-PSU child molestation ring....what? A removal of a name?
-Bama’s kids flashing money & brand new cars....what? Self reported “recruiting violations” & a that-a-boy pat on the back? -Nebraska’s WC connection....what? Nothing.
Get a clue....CFB is a business, and it’s a dirty business. The only time it’s a concern is when programs that crash the party (SMU, Miami, SC) and start interfering w/ what the good ole boys clubs got going on, then it’s a call for the Death Penalty. Only time the good ole boys club get touched is when overwhelming evidence that can’t be swept under the rug comes out. The only reason Ole Miss even got love tapped was b/c Tunsil, in a high state, snitched on the Internet. That couldn’t be ignored.
Having a thread about this does nothing. Chop it up to the game. Go watch “The Program” or “Blue Chips” to see how colleges work. These schools in small towns put food on the table for not just the athlete, but the cities...and these boosters will do anything to keep that going.
