Anyone who claims that Dorito and/or Golden were smart is a ******* dumbass themselves
Total and complete indictment on the Golden 3-4 defense meant for strong North East kids with brains and no athletic ability. So much for the seemingly concerned effort to not put the old coaches on blast. I personally want to see more putting those ammeters on blast. It's a Cane thing.
More proof that Golden and D'no were unintelligent, yellow backed failures.
I think NoD was actually pretty smart, but him being smart does no good when your players don't understand what to do. You're only as smart as what your players can comprehend.
Only knowing exactly what to do 50% or less of the time in his defense turns into the results we had last year. In the 100s in most defensive categories

This is dumb in so many ways.
For starters, since when are the Div1 kids from the northeast that much smarter than southern kids?
Second, the problem with the previous administration wasn't that they were running with a 3-4.
It was how they were running it.
Lots of schools in the southeast run a 3-4 and the way they run is just as athletic and aggressive
as many 4-3 defenses.
Heck, look at the 3-4 Houston runs under Todd Orlando, who was a long-time coach at UConn.
Finally, and it's not just this post, but others as well where I keep reading that we had a slow
team because Golden wanted to fashion a Big10 squad.
Lots of Big10 teams have very good team speed.
Put an end to that nonsense as well.

Some of these dopes just can't accept that some coaches are terrible. They still think Folden was just a "bad fit." He's a bad fit anywhere where they expect to win more than 8 games per year. He's absolute trash, and his system is busted.
He is also an idiot. He's not smart. He's a fcking moron. Anyone who is as rigid as he is and insists on doing things the same way despite how obvious of a failure it was is a moron.
He continually failed for 5 years and insisted on trying to cram a square peg into a round hole. Yet there are still bozos on here lauding his intelligence because he spoke in complete sentences and had a neat haircut.
Here is a question I have....on the practice videos I see another coach working with him.
A white dude.
Anyone know who this guy is?
Probably a GradAsst, just wondering who it is, if he also came from Mizzou.
I kind of wish Kareem Brown was working with him, learning from the master.

I think Kareem Brown is helping with the LB's still. Not completely sure

Were getting exactly what we wanted. Its like the read the board & made a checklist of what we want. Attacking D, Power O, & recruting south florida hard. Beautiful.
on offense and defense golden coached scared. he is a choke artist. bottom line.
On Chad Thomas the past couple seasons…
“I think he played very cautious from what I can see in past years here. He played like he was afraid to make a mistake. Now, he has to play a little bit more aggressive or reckless and it is ok because he bought into that. Instead of being in the right place and letting somebody else make the tackle, he can make the tackle. Hopefully he is seeing how good he can be, because he can be really good.”
On how the defensive linemen have adjusted to the scheme…
“The guys seem to enjoy playing in our defense. Our structure with guys, we are not lining guys up and asking them to play with their head up and move side to side in a two-gap system. We have 11 guys on defense and all 11 guys have a chance to make a play.”
On how this Miami defensive line compares to his Missouri defensive lines…
“I can’t really tell you. Two years ago if you told me that Shane Ray was going to be a first round draft pick, I would have said no way.
On what he looks for when recruiting defensive linemen…
“We want guys that can run. I don’t want any big guys who are strong, but struggle with change of direction. We need guys that can run and change direction and we are looking for guys that are playmakers.
Pretty interesting stuff on Shane Ray cant believe he improved that much under kool
and I hope to see the Chad we all hoped he would be...

Big difference between intelligence and wisdom. He may be intelligent, but definitely unwise when he saw consistent failures and made no adjustments. Then again it could be because he didn't want to go against Golden's philosophies. Golden is not CEO material. He needed his 20 inch binders and pillars to do anything. Not strategically capable at all. I am cautiously hopeful seeing what Richt is doing here. Hopefully he has learned from his past failures and takes the next step in becoming a championship-level CEO.

There is nothing about Coach D that should lead anybody to the conclusion that he is smart. To the contrary he is on the record as preferring a "heady, 4.7 40 guy" over instinctual fast guys at safety.
