The majority of this clip is how he was yanking kids from Texas to come to Mizzou. I know his assigned recruiting area under Pinkel was South Texas (San Antonio/Houston) so I wonder if that will still be a focus at all under Richt? We shouldn't have to go Texas as much as they did but it sure wouldn't hurt to have a major presence there either.

It would be nice if he could pull a good DT out of there every few years since DT depth is lacking in south florida.

No reason to not pluck good player from top HSs in Texas. Footprint helps when the one big huge got to have guy comes along. DTs and QBs need to be hunted everywhere. Given the QBs (4 NC rings) who come out of Mobile lately, we might want to say "hi" there too. McCarron actually grew up as Cane fan.

We actually have quite a few Texas connections on staff with Searels, Banda, and Diaz all being former Longhorns. We have a pretty great "geography" of staff members overall in fact with the Texas boys plus Brown and Hartley having ties to Georgia (and Richt of course.) Also Searels has experience recruiting Virginia and Louisiana as well. And of course Rumph, Dugans, and Diaz in Florida...

Not to mention of course many of these coaches come from SEC programs, recruiting the entire Southeast region.

Super excited to get a Texas connect again. 10000 times better than the ****** NJ connect we had.

NJ is a good state for cherry-picking recruits - just not at the exclusion of all others.

Very excited that he is known for hand picking talent all across the south. Texas is full of studs and the competition there is great in High School football. It’s like religion.

I know there are such things as diamonds in the rough but I still can’t believe no legit program offered Walter Brady(louisville did 3 days before signing day as a plan b or c) and he made him into a freshman all american player this year

the kids offers: (from alabama so auburn, alabama, clemson, USCe, UF all passed)

Alabama A&M
Georgia Southern
Middle Tenn St
Marshall
North Texas
San Diego St
South Alabama
Southern Miss
UAB

Coach Kool is going to be amazing at Miami. Hopefully he’s a lifer

Same with Virginia. We tried to make inroads there and didn't get **** but there's always a few guys with no real home base there to be had.

But I would rather focus on Texas if I had the choice especially for DL

Our DL should be called Kool and the gang

SOLD! Lol.

Kool and the Gang are actually going to be at "Jazz in the Gardens" this year. They are the main act for Sat night. I will def be there front row!

Anyway, we havent done any significant in TX since we lost Butch. Seems like Butch made sure we had at least 2-3 studs from TX per year. Lets get back in there and pluck a few!

Kuligowski should have complete autonomy with the DL to coach it and recruit whoever he wants. He's earned that.

Let him choose his own ingredients and help him acquire them and shut up and watch him work his magic. He took 2 freshmans DL last year at Mizzou and made them freshmans AA.

10000 times better than the ****ty NJ connect we had.

The past staff's got everyone shook, but this is an area where USC, OSU, Michigan, PSU, Miami, Alabama, FSU, etc recruit. NJ's been good for us over the decades, including the present (see AQM, Jenkins, Njoku), so why stop now?

in the past we've done well cherry picking an AA type from jersey. a top player at his position in country. either a dt or a te type.
