Coach Golden quotes from today

At the end of the day, we're gonna have pass rushing D ends covering receivers in the slot and corners playing 9 yards off the ball at snap and backpedding an additional 5 yards at snap.

Golden is supposed to be a defensive guy. How could he sit back for three years while his defense got sexually abused before he decided to do something about it?
I'm with you on that one. No way in he'll I let my defense get back to back 400+ yards games. Firing the d coordinator

- Golden onUM v. FSU: "For us at the U of Miami, for us to get back to where we want to be, we’ve got to win that game."

This was the most important quote for me. Usually he would run form this question but he actually said what i wanted. i like this new golden.

Asked Golden how he can be better in Year 4. Said he'll be more hands-on, delegate his time better.

I told everyone in the other thread he was going to be more hands on with the defense and everything from now on. he knows his seat is warm and he doesnt want D'NO to cause him his job.

Why doesn't this make me feel any better?

"Our platform has changed from constantly being on our heels and defending ourselves to now, we're back on the attack." I've been watching Golden for three years, and our defense's primary criticism is that it's NOT an attacking defense.

Told you he's good at blowing stuff out his ***.

- "Our platform has changed, from constantly being on our heels and defending ourselves to now, we’re back on the attack," he said.

Is he talking about defense, recruiting, or both?

I think he was referring to the NCAA crap, not the defense. But God I wish he was talking about the D

I wouldn't be as mad as some of you if I was forced to drink my own urine daily. Holy ****.

Asked about the bowl game he says they don't look back.

News flash, you better since you'll soon be seeing a lot of those same players again. As they say, those who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it.

Regarding that and the rest, there wasn't much said and that's the way most coach interviews go. You can analyze everything he said until you're blue in the face and still not get near the truth on a lot of it.

DMoney, what are your thoughts and expectations for this season?

Look at the starters and depth on defense last year and tell me why it's so hard to believe Golden when he said the defense looked so much better in the spring. Not saying the D will be great…but easy to see the talent upgrade at every level.

I like the talent and character on the roster. The defense we saw in spring had speed and aggression. There are no more Highsmiths and Rodgers.

I don't like the uncertainty at QB and DT. I also don't like the schedule.

If the QB situation gets settled, and Wyche is who we think he is, this could be a breakthrough season. But those are two big ifs.

We are getting back to having premium, top-end players. Perryman, Duke, Coley and Flowers are as good as anyone in the country. However, depth is still an issue. We were a Top 10 team with Duke last year, and an embarrassment with him on the sideline. We need to get lucky with health.

I'm excited. We're almost a month away. Let's stop being whiny ******* about Golden. He's here and his results will speak for themselves. This is an exciting time. If you weren't excited you wouldn't be on here, so let's focus on the season and stop crying about the same ****.

You won't get vote until I see the work done on the field. Talk a good game, can you back it up, Senator Golden.

****ing Golden. Not winning games during media days again.

Correct, he actually didn't lose today.

Back to real life. I think it was losing 4 of the last 6 that has people upset.

People will continue to feel this way until we actually change this behavior.

Then why didnt he fire him? lol

It's really pathetic that he took so long to learn this (if it is true). He has been a HC since 2006.

Oh yeah, hire competent coaches.

Doesn't really matter if he claims to be more hands on. What has he ever done as a defensive Corch to instill any confidence that him being hands on is going to fix anything? I suspect he's been plenty hands on all along anyway. It's his defense we've been running, and he's not the tower Corch type.
