Coach D'onofrio and Recruiting.... what is he doing?

The thing is you HAVE NO CLUE who he is or has recruited to Miami. You're also the same kid who said Miami was just as good as Alabama and was drinking our defenses kool-aid 3 weeks ago. So do everyone on this board a favor and kindly shut your stupid ******* know nothing mouth. Thanks.

"kid" boy if u dont shut yo ****** *** up......

I said i was support NO D'nofrio up until the Wake Forest ****** plenty of times already and yes w/o all these injuries on offense, including Morris, i thought Miami probably couldve competed w/ Alabama b/c i thought this defense was better then it was.

Then I realized that D'onofrio is a terrible Def. Coordinator, that wants other teams to move up the field and score so then i snapped out of the D'onofrio bandwagon and now he has to go.

My left nut knows more about football then you ******.

All we can do is go by the information that is available to us.

According to 247 D'ohno is given credit for the commitment of Nick Linder. His remaining top target that isn't currently committed is Anthony Moten.

Some other top targets that he was the primary recruiter for that are committed elsewhere are: Jabrill Peppers, Corey Holmes, Chris Lammons, Kiy Hester, Ravian Pierce and Marquese Dudley-Gordon

James Coley on the other hand has the following commitments credited to him: Bethel, Rosier, Trayone Gray, Kayaa and Yearby. Those are the prospects that he was the primary recruiter for. It does not include prospects for which he was their secondary recruiter (Chad Thomas the only one committed he's credited with being secondary).

For those saying coordinators aren't heavy in the recruiting game:

FSU DC, Jeremy Pruitt: http://247sports.com/Coach/Jeremy-Pruitt-267

Auburn co-OC, Dameyune Craig: http://247sports.com/Coach/Dameyune-Craig-37

Alabama OC, Doug Nussmeier: http://247sports.com/Coach/Doug-Nussmeier-762

Georgia OC, Mike Bobo: http://247sports.com/Coach/Mike-Bobo-67

Alabma DC, Kirby Smart: http://247sports.com/Coach/Kirby-Smart-264

Notre Dame DC, Bob Diaco: http://247sports.com/Coach/Bob-Diaco-208

Texas A&M OC, Clarence McKinney: http://247sports.com/Coach/Clarence-McKinney-669

Maryland OC, Mike Locksley: http://247sports.com/Coach/Mike-Locksley-813

All ranked nationally top 30 for recruiters according to 247. I'm not sure how accurate and up-to-date this information is, but it's all I have to go on. Don't tell me coordinators aren't heavily involved or relied upon in recruiting, because they are...if they're good at it.

Based off these facts alone.... D'onofrio is not only garbage as a DC he is even worse as a recruiter.

As far as Anthony Moten D'onofrio is concerned Jethro Franklin has to help D'onofrio reel him in.... no wonder Moten is hesitant to pull the trigger, D'onofrio is recruiting him smh

I agree, Coach D is not the greatest recruiter ever. BUT, on the defensive side of the ball, the star ranking doesn't hold as much weight IMO. I'm from Iowa, and I despise the Hawkeyes, and the big 10 for that matter, and teams like Iowa, Wisconsin, and Penn St. will get at most 1 or 2 4* recruits, yet those three teams always have extremely stout defenses. Also, coming from a long line of football coaches even at the D1 level, I've been told that you need to get guys that have the size you're looking for, and then it's your job as a coach to create them into the players you want to be. So this shouldn't be a question of, " Who has he recruited, how come we aren't getting 5* defenders at every position?" it should be a question of, "How come he's not developing these RAW, So. Fla players THAT WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE (more than our own families some of the time, for me Tyriq and Tracy <3) into defensive studs. Just like how we used to back in the day. The "State of Miami" didn't used to have the 5* rankings all the time like they do now. They were recognized for all that raw, untapped athleticism alongside that hardworking, hungry work ethic

Agree.... I would like every D'onofrio supporter to compare the defensive stats from the Miami/FSU blowout loss in 2010 to this past weeks blowout loss (2013).

It's the same thing except this year Miami gave up more total yards, was worse on 3rd down defense, and was worse when it comes to FSU's TOP.

to continue to support him like he's doing us a favor is a joke.

So D'onofrio doesnt deserve any criticism even though he's been on the job since Al Golden.... dont act *** now.

it's ok to jump on James Coley but D'onofrio isnt fair game b/c he's Al Golden's best friend. lol hilarious.

Dude, you're obsessed.

Nonsense. Those were 2 completely different offenses we were playing. Common sense man...

First, let me say that I'm of the belief that coordinators are definitely involved with recruiting. With that said, I just wanted to mention that Craig is about as much of an offensive coordinator as Trooper Taylor was. The only reason he's listed as Co-Oc is so they could justify paying him the same amount as Lashlee (the "OC"). In reality, AU's setup is really Malzahn as OC and Lashlee as mini-OC. LOL

Look at it like this. Uf,gt,unc, and fsu all went for 400+ yards. Wf had 300+ all basically passing. The only teams the d held under 300 yards was usf, fau, sav st. Also uf,wf,unc, & fsu all had 300+ plus passing completing well over 60%.

That's b/c our Defensive Coordinator is the worst defensive coordinator Miami has ever had

We need to spread this though to get the message out. Let's get it on this board as well.

That's not talent. We have more than enough talent to shut down wake. All wake does is throw the ball to 1 wr and he still didn't try to stop it. Same thing with gt. The d is giving up 445 yards a game in acc play. You will not consistently win giving up 400+ a game. No team in college or the nfl wins a lot of games giving up 400+.
