Coach Beard

Five star or high four star. He has to land one of those this class or it’s a failure. So it’s keys or Russell. Keys is a five star and Russell is a high four star. He has to land one of them, no excuses!
Ok I can get with that but he’s landed multiple high four star guys. I just don’t see other coaches, who haven’t recruited as well being held to this same incredibly high standard.

Landing a 5 star out of Mississippi shouldn’t determine no position coach job at Miami. You are asking for something to be done that hasn’t ever been done. Landing Russell is a different story .

I guess you didn’t read my full post I said, landing either keys or Russell. Not just keys! I understand that’s difficult, but we have one right in our backyard and if he doesn’t land him, then it’s a failure. Flat out!

I guess you also didn’t read my full post as I basically agreed with you about Russell but you got it.

He’s got a tough task… he’s asked to bring in high end guys and going against coaches and offensive systems that have been WR centric and known for putting guys in the first round. Being intentional about getting guys the ball.

Gotta break the seal with that… once we get one 1st rounder then we can start beating out these other school for the “high end” talent.

When I watched Ohio State play they had the ability to run the ball just as effectively as we did/do. JS played with other WRs who have high draft grades… but they were still intentional with him and I believe that’s what the kids care about. And until we show a commitment to showcasing pass catchers it’s going to be tough to beat those other teams out.

Look at Arroyo… from a talent standpoint he was absolutely good enough to win the Mackey. What we did offensively he “could” have put up better numbers than he did… that wasn’t our philosophy. And Dawson commented to that after the season.

Our best receiver just went undrafted… what’s the sell? What do we tell recruits to get them to come here if the money is the same?

WRs more than anybody else care about that stuff.
This is the most logical answer.
