I don't think it will be this year though, but next. He will retire and fall in the sword rather than make changes with his staff. That's just who he is as a person.

You mention that because it's the truth. You can have a great game, but it can all go to **** in an instant. Tired, worn out, they needed to make a play and they didn't. Ballgame, it wasn't all on them, but the team as a whole.

Anyhow, I don't know why these things are talked about. What do people expect him to say? I suck, I quit?
 
Of course not. Truth is GT didn't beat us, we gave away the game with stupid mistakes.

All I'm saying is if you're going to praise the Defense then Do It, but don't say we don't give them enough Credit & then start to pick it apart in the same Breath. Yes, the D let GT run out the clock, but the D was on the field for 35 minutes and might be wearing down because the Offense can't sustain drives.

They was on the field because they couldn’t get off on 3rd down, it’s simple

I've given the guy as much room as anyone. I was the first one to call people out last year when we would luck into a win. It was year 2 and we couldn't expect to be all that good, so a win was a win. And I still don't agree with people who want to say they knew early last year that he sucked. Dude deserved time to fix this sht. Even this year, he could have kept me onboard by acknowledging that we weren't where we should be and keeping Perry the starter.

Instead he's both acted like there's almost nothing wrong and run around like a chicken with it's head cut off switching QBs left and right. He's all calm and keeps guys in the game when they are clear fumbling hazards, but benches a young QB as soon as he makes a mistake. And benches him for a guy who makes his own mistakes.

Fck. Everybody knows this sht, I'm just wasting keystrokes at this point.

Unless he can make real changes and light a fire under his team he has to go. And I have no confidence that he can do those things, so...

Well someone or something needs to light a fire under Mork' s *** first, and it's gonna take a hella fire at that. For the record I hated the hire day one and said so, dude was beat down and pretty much wore out when he got here, and kids just won't respond to that.
 
I hate to disagree but I don't know where everyone is getting this "feeling" that CMR is going anywhere at the end of this season. I also don't think that he is going to give up play calling either after listening to him speak on Hurricane Hotline. When I listen to him speak and read what Richt says in interviews, it leads me to believe that he honestly does not see a problem with what is going on. It's execution in his opinion and not play calling. He also does not believe he has the dudes right now to run his scheme perfectly and productively but he does see that changing in the next couple of years.

He just signed an extension and it's not like we are being blown out in games. I think he honestly believes he is a QB away from turning those games Miami lost this year to wins. The problem is that he is right in making this assumption because if we did have someone like Bryant playing QB this year for us we probably win those games that we lost this year. But we will never beat any elite team while he is calling his conservative plays that have worked over the last 30+ years. When someone has that belief and has done this job for as long as Richt they tend to not just fade away into the night.

Richt will never be the coach who is going to go for the jugular on any opponent. He will never run up the score and believes that victories over Duke and Virginia teams are just as good as victories over Clemson and Alabama. He believes this because victories over Duke and Virginia get us to the ACC Champ game and even if he doesn't win that game, it's the ultimate goal of his for Miami to just get to that game. He will always play games close to the vest offensively and wants to win games by just barely scoring more than the opponent.

The best we can hope for is that he finds a way to turn things around next year (and the next 5 years) and maintains a steady win total and gets us to the ACC Champ game more times than not. This way he can leave the cupboard full when he/if he retires in 2023.

Even in our prime, that was a typical time split for our teams. In particular against GT, the time splits greatly favored them.

Now in our prime our offense scored a lot faster than this offense and both teams would typically have more possessions. I didn't go back and check that out.

Either way, they didn't gas out. Our guys weren't dropping, so let's not use that as an excuse. Willis, great year, but he flat out ran right by their running back on a third down that would've stopped their drive. That's exactly what I'm talking about when I say they needed to make a play.

Whatever, it is what it is.

He can either go to Blake and tell him to open up the wallet so he can make the hires and staff changes he desperately needs to make and completely remove himself from day-to-day operations, or he can dig in and continue to lie to himself and the rest of the world in a delusional state and continue trying to prove that his way will work.

Or he can just resign. I hope for his sake it's either Option A or C.

Well said mate, well said. In his confused stupor he’s begun lashing out at his critics which are mounting by the day. He’s the functional alcoholic who’s refusing to get help, citing his ability to make it to work on time, collect a paycheck, and function within the norm as examples that things don’t need to change. But little does he see his world is collapsing around him, eroding at the very core. I too believe he’s at the crossroads of either digging in and fighting tooth and nail until he’s ousted. Or realizes it’s time to put the bottle down for good, and get some much needed help.

It’s a great analogy and one we find Richt in currently. I pray he listens to the pressure that’s squeezing him from all corners of the fan base, former players, and now the media.

How’s he truly believe that he will leave the cupboard full when he retires. Hasn’t he taken a gander at the decommits from this past week? What ‘19 class is he going to sign that will even make the top 30 nationally? Adding Bryant will only make Weldon/Perry/Williams walk and transfer out. Then what does he do? It’s not as if he’s recruiting a QB this cycle. I think he’s finally seeing the writing on the wall, and the pressure that’s mounting upon his head on the daily. I truly feel he wants no part of it and will walk away with his career $40+ million into the sunset, and never look back at coaching again.
