Closer look at NC's Air Raid

When did our Safeties acquire a lack of range? Gurv is an incredible athlete who can cover a ton of space with rapidity and malice.
It's been talked about in several threads. Lance's review and Lu's thread, along with some back and forth between Lu and @dsddcane. Moreso Carter than Hall when it comes to range.

I think our rangiest guy just got through clearinghouse, but I'd like him to show it on the field.

I don’t really worry about our defense against spread teams. It’s the power teams that really cause us problems like Wisconsin x2 And Boston college. Manny and baker have to figure out why we struggle with those kind of offenses.

it seems the difference is 4th and 5th year OLs that are strong and skilled playing against physically weaker DLs and LBs.

I said it before, Amari doesn’t have coverage instincts and should be a striker. Bubba will take that job by October. I’m praying Gurvan had the jitters because was not good and seemed not to love contact
LOL. Now Gurvan Hall doesn’t like contact. I’ve heard it all. UM fans are fcking nuts, man. Wow.

They’re insane if they claim Gurv doesn’t have range. He might have been thinking a little too much in his first real game action. But if dudes are already passing judgment on his range they’re out to lunch.

But most of the dolts on here we’re claiming Bubba is too skinny and won’t help us this year. So take it all with a boulder of salt.

Go back and watch because it was pretty evident. I’m not saying he’s gonna bust - we have to ride with him but for all the GT hype, I expects this dude to come out as the next great safety
Yeah. Guys are gone with the wind if they think Gurv is contact shy.

And anyone expecting a Safety in this defense to be incredible in his first real game action is nuts. You analysts need to relax a bit.

I remember watching Ed Reed struggle early in his career Booch even benched him. Reed retired as a top 5 Safety in the history of the game.

UM fans mocked a young Brandon Meriweather for two years for getting trucked by Otis Wilson who outweighed him by 40 pounds.

No one hates our players more than our fans.

The constant down talking on Amari Carter is gonna need to come to an end this season.

He played 56 snaps the 3rd most of anyone on Defense & arguably had the 2nd best performance behind Bandy.

This slander of AC5 is honestly ridiculous, go rewatch the game our Secondary did a great job, we didn't lose the game because of them, we lost because our Offense is still sh*t & can't do basic fundamentals like blocking, catching & passing on time.

Amari Carter is going to be a starter ALL year & he's going to break out his Junior year just like Jaquan, Rome Finley & Redwine all did their Junior seasons. Hate to break it to yall, but Bolden is not replacing him at all.

The duo of Amari & Gurvan will be fine, yall over exaggerate these narratives about players way too much.

I think we'll see a very different kind of D-line performance against UNC. Garvin isn't going to be sitting back and spying the QB. Hill and Rousseau will likely get more playing time because Patchan's better run-stopping ability won't be as important. While at UF the goal was to avoid letting Franks escape the rush and get big gains, and to prevent their power running game from getting going, against UNC we will probably go the "kill the QB" route to rattle the freshman.
If we get them behind the chains, its gonna be a long day for a true freshman QB. Esp with 2 weeks to prepare and 2 non-conference games to follow it up.

Their brains only remember the one play made against him in a game and forget about the other 50+ times he did his job.

It’s the same crowd that dog Garvin’s performance while having no clue what his role entailed.

NC OL just as bad if not worse than ours. If defense does not feast we have serious problems. . Not worried about our defense this game. Want to see major improvements I offense and ST.

let's be real i'm not worried about our defense in any game this season, including that 1st one. they played more than well enough to win EVERY game last year, and they played well enough to win last saturday

just like last season, the success of this season rests SOLELY on the shoulders of the offense.

The offensive clips showed varied route options. What I really noticed and was surprised about were the runs where they pulled two guards and led with a back. Going to test our DB's and LB'ers.

Longo’s Offense gets termed an Air Raid but in the truest sense it really isn’t compared to what Leach or even Kingsbury run.

The criticism of it being “too” simple is probably valid, and considering Longo had more talent to work with at Ole Miss the long term results will likely be similar: they will eventually put up a lot of points on Duke, GT, and Wake but will probably struggle to score against more talented or equally talented teams.

guys don't do it to yourselves, its a road ACC division game. expecting a blowout will just ruin your experience, it may happen, but until proven otherwise, our history in the ACC says it wont

our best team in the last 12 years (2017) barely won at NC, and lost at Pitt

Why do you think they called the kind of game they did against the gators. Some people have to make up their mind. Do they want us to go after the passer and get tackles for loss, or do they want us to match up against power running teams.

To do both you need a Jerome Brown, Leroy Selmon type talent at tackle and experienced corners that you can put on an island and not worry. We're best off matching our approach against our opponent.

We simply get caught up in numbers game and are outflanked alot....teams motion or shift and we are stagnant and its easy to block..saw it against UF as well. But thoe teams i always worry more so about
