The fact that he isnt getting reps on a mediocre OL means he is not very good. That said, I cant believe that a kid his size who has elite weight room strength cant be developed. I thought he would give us 2 or three years as a starter when he committed. Definately a disappointment.
 
If I was Manny, I would pull his scholarship and make him pay for the rest of the semester. Good luck finding somewhere other than a JUCO to transfer too.

At that point it’s gotta be mental/willingness.
 
He has already used his redshirt. Entering the portal now does nothing for him. He still has to sit out next year regardless. He could have played the season out, competed for and possibly earned a starting job here and worst case scenario transferred after the season. I have no idea why he would do this now.

There's a blatant shift in the type of linemen the current staff prefers compared to the previous guys. Given the previous guys' results, I'll have to give the benefit of the doubt to our current coaches.

I was using it as a figure of speech more than commentary on the status of available scholarships. I don't know why he left, it was his decision and I'm not going to bash the guy for making that choice. I'm also not going to bash the staff for his departure.

Next time I'll say something more generic.

Looks like somebody's getting a private room now.
Gonna be a little more room at the buffet.

yeah, if he redshirted last year then he can’t do that. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him at UCF with the sick family member excuse as he’s from an area near Lakeland.

Not only that, you can only play one QB at a time and the backup doesn't really play unless the starter is hurt. There's two starters at guard and the line does rotate players throughout the game so even if you don't get one of the two starting spots, you'll get burn.

obviously i dont know the entire situation, but if it's just because he's not starting, good god that is sad

Finally someone who gets it.

The answer to everyone hitting the portal is “who”, “don’t need him”, “frees up a scholarship”. We have been exactly 2 deep 0 times along the OL for a minute. Maybe ppl forget, but this is a contact sport in which anyone can get touched or lose a spot at any time....especially in the trenches.
