Clemson elite D-Line stays Ours.........

The problem is that we have agents in our own back yard briefing the kids on just what the coaches will say to try to get them to stay while waving dollar signs in their faces. Just a guess.

I think this is key too. Mawa, the shark, his office is about 5 minute from campus.

No agents are close to that Vincinity to Clemson’s campus. Much harder to get access to these players imo.

These kids make good money at CU, what do you expect?

I know you’re half kidding.....

But Ferrell is a projected first rounder.

Amazing that kids would turn down millions.....

Maybe they just like playing college football, in a small town where they’re treated like royalty, and they’re assuming the money at the next level will always be there.

Who knows....

It’s super interesting to see other schools can keep first rounders in schoool but we have folks getting itchy the moment they’re projected as a 5th rounder.

Says a lot about the advice some of our players are getting.

IMO its definitely worth looking into because some of the decisions to leave made over the last few years have been incredibly dumb

The really surprising one is Ferrell. There has to be a backstory.

Or maybe the kid just loves his college experience. The guys I've spoken to over the years miss their college days almost to a tee. You read articles and see interviews and it is the same story. NFL is a business and players are treated as commodity. Relationships and friendship are forged in college. Even if you get hurt, a kid like Ferrell is going first or second round.

As long as it keeps FSU down, I don't really care.

The 3 teams we need to worry about, FSU, LSU, and VT all got crushed by early entries worse than us

I care. As long as Clemson returns everyone on the DL they will be favored to win the ACC again.

Even IF 2 or more of those guys mentioned left for NFL Clemson would still be favored to win the ACC...so to me it doesnt matter who stays or goes on someone else's team...i'm just concerned about Miami...

So why post on this thread if you only care about Miami? Smh. Clemson is a whole lot better with them. Not saying they are unbeatable but that ACC title game is going to be very difficult once again. Without those guys our chances would have been better. It’s mind boggling they stayed.

When i say only caring about Miami...i'm talking Miami's roster....no other team's roster
in the country is gonna affect how well we play no matter who leaves or stays....the standard is still the same. We are back to the point where we are getting elite level guys now....so as long as that happens Miami should and will eventually beat the Alabama's or Clemson's of the world. No scared talk or soft shouldered thinking going on....

All well and good, except he was slated as a likely Top 15-20 pick. He might only go slightly higher in '19, if at all. In an environment where you need to get out of your first contract (rookie deal) as soon as possible. If he were a Hurricane and left early, it'd make perfect sense to me.

The only reason they're staying at Clemson is because they're scared to compete in the draft with UM's two underclassmen D linemen who are coming out early.

yeah, that's the ticket.

But he is not. He also went to Benedictine which is a really good private school in Richmond. Maybe the kid values his education.

When they get their bags of money and houses/jobs for parents, I bet it is agreed upon to play four years unless approved by the Big Pumba

More power to him. Everyone has the right to make decisions that best fit their wishes, of course. If he plans on being an NFL player and squeezing the most out of that short career, I see it as a poor risk reward calculation. If he values education so deeply, with the help of support staff and athlete credit tracks, he should be nearly done. I'd wish him luck, but he's an enemy.

Clemson players aren't in a rush to go in get paid because they're already getting paid.

I agree w BK1, we can’t do **** about it so what’s the point in worrying about something we can’t control. Our boys just gotta strap up and get at it. We are not that far off from having a roster every year like Bum-a. It’s been a painful road traveled to bring our program back from the dead (the gutter). But it’s going to be sweet when we are unstoppable and competing for ships evert year. Go Canes!!!

Perhaps getting that *** spanked by Bama has these guys wanting to come back and seek revenge and grab another title.

If they all stay ... then RJ and Ken made the right choice ... less competition in the draft

Bryant and Ferrell aren’t dts so I doubt It affects them too much and I believe Christian Wilkins is entering the draft.

The bagman excuse does not apply here. We're talking about a projected first round pick. There's no way some Clem's son booster is ponying up millions to keep one lineman in school. The difference is the championship culture and the desire to win. Not just play the minimum amount of years required before jumping ship at the first possible opportunity. Some guys actually care about winning a title.
