Clemson -19 vs Miami

Clemson by at least 35. They may not have it all together but they have far more talent than we do.
This is the way any rational person would look at it, but the point spread is low so it seems like a trap. Almost no chance UM wins, but I think this might be the week UM covers. UM is coming off their best game of the season, and Clemson's offense is not all that. Mario gets his Signature Moral Victory by keeping it closer than expected.

3-game road win streak.

Feel much better about our chances against Clemson on the road versus at home were we've lost 4 straight by an average of 3+ touchdowns.

BTW, those odds are from Draft Kings.

Asking Jacurri to shine in his 2d start, in a road game with a packed stadium seems like a bridge too far. But we shall see.
This is all about the game plan Mario and Gattis produce. I say Mario because he's the one to decide whether we play conservative and by how much.

As written in my post from another thread, I believe they will play ultra conservative running the ball much more than they did against GT.

It's a losing proposition resulting in a blowout loss. You have to throw the ball against Clemson. It has to be a throw first mentality with runs sprinkled in. They will take away the run and force 3 and outs ALL day if you don't/can't pass the ball.

We have to throw the ball on 1st down and get ourselves in 3rd and shorts where we throw it at least half the time on 3rd down to keep them honest against the run. However, their front 4 may be all they need to contain our running game.

This is a game where you have to devise 30+ passes for Jaccuri. If you don't, it's going to be a blowout loss so he might as well get his baptism under fire. There's no way around it.

Clemson can be beat by a perfect game plan constructed by the coaches, then executed by the players.

A near perfect combo of that and we could win the game.

So..............

I hope Clemson tries to throw all over the place running up the score and turns it over a lot, with the sitting and switching of quarterbacks. Make it ugly.
They will come out trying to establish the run. Our defensive line needs to play their best game against the run and get pressure on the QB.

The Clemson offensive line is just above average. . They're not elite on the offensive line.

They run the ball to set up the pass. However, they might start the game with a lot of scripted throws to loosen up the defense and then establish the run.

Clemson wants to run the ball first just like we want to.

It is not out of the realm of possibility that we win. Not saying we will, but it could happen.

They beat:
GT by 31
Furman by 23
La Tech by 28
BC by 28

We’re better than those teams defensively, and, hate to say it but right there with them offensively.
A way too simple way to look at it is take a score away from those numbers and your right around 20.

Not hard for Clemson. Guessing TVD is still out, so they spy Brown, crowd the box and dare Miami to throw. They'll put in some trap coverages too. Will probably look a lot like the last time they played, where their defense dominated.

For Miami to have any chance, they're going to have to throw the ball and move Brown out of the pocket. He's probably just working one read then tuck it right now, but he's big enough that he should be able to get positive yards if he scrambles. I just remember how they collapsed the RPO's last time, shooting LB's in from everywhere, confusing the OL and destroying plays before they started. The OL looked better last week, but that was GT. It would be nice if just once, the other team made Miami's true freshman QB look like a Heisman finalist, instead of the other way around.

Total is 48 points. What you gUYsMs think about the over/under?
I actually like the over. They will score at will. Some of this board is over selling our defense after the last two games.

Clemson are not world beaters on offense but they put up 30+ against NC St and FSU, much better defenses than ours. I think we only get the under if they pull starters up 30 in the second half.

Comfortable putting $ on Clemson -19 best bet. I will be really encouraged by Mario if he covers the spread on Saturday.

Jacurri is going to have to get some quick confidence and pass early pay the Dolphins head coach McDaniel a consulting fee..why not ? 🫣
