Four-Star Cornerback Hill Will Visit Miami
David Lake
12/21/15

Miami has convinced top 100 cornerback Lavert Hill to take an official visit.

Hill (5-11, 175) plans to visit UM the final weekend before National Signing Day on January 29th.

Cornerback is one of the key positions that new head coach Mark Richt has identified as an area that UM needs to upgrade and build depth moving forward. Hill is rated as the No. 67 overall player in the country and the No. 6 cornerback in the country by 247Sports.com.

Miami will have its work cut out for them if they are going to land Hill. A native of Detroit, Michigian, Hill is believed to be leaning heavily toward the University of Michigan at this time. Michigan State is also recruiting Hill heavily.

Hill has already taken official visits to Tennessee and Michigan. He plans to visit Southern California on January 15th, Michigan State on January 22nd, and Miami on January 29th.

Hill will play in the Army All-American Game.

Detroit four-star cornerback Lavert Hill had the ability to enroll early in college, but has decided to take his recruitment out through the month of January.

An In-State Battle for Hill's Commitment?

It's been roughly 10 months since LaVert Hill verbally committed to Penn State back in late January, but after months of speculation that he'd ultimately sign with either Michigan or Michigan State, that rumor has finally come to fruition.

Hill decommitted from the Nittany Lions just a week following his official visit to Happy Valley. The No. 11 ranked senior cornerback in the country by the 247Sports Composite Rankings has yet to visit East Lansing since the Oregon game on Sept. 12, but has traveled to Ann Arbor on three separate occasions since that unofficial visit.

There's the possibility that Hill and teammate and MSU target Donnie Corley would sign with the same team, but most experts have Hill committing to Michigan.

The advantage of choosing the Wolverines over the Spartans for Hill is that he would get to play with his older brother, Delano, who's a Detroit Cass Tech graduate.

I do this for fun, not money. I get paid for M&A. Finding the players is coaching job. Are you sujjesting payers have gotten slower over the last 15 to 20 years? That is possible I guess.

No you're saying this class is slow I'm asking for faster players W/ the same or better talent

I'm saying this is the internet. Our job is to complain and make noise for free. Coaches are PAID to find the right players. But since you persist, I am saying this class does not have, nor have AL's other classes, the speed our classic Cane defense had. Clearly Al did not value speed. My hope is Mark will. He gets the money to find it. If I was being paid to do it, I certainly would, but alas I am not, so I will not. For me it is sufficient to assume high school football players in So FL have not suddenly gotten universally slow. From that I draw a logical conclusion that the faster players are out there as they always were. If you contend otherwise, that is fine. I would ask you to dispove my theory that local players are as fast as they always where, but I really don't care that much about your opinion. Maybe it is just climate change. ****, if it can cause terrorism is surely can cause slowness.

Answer his question

I did. No my job to jump through hoops for free.

Is your job to hold onto the previous coaching staff forever and derail Warrior's thread with anti-Golden repeats.?

Pretty sure no one asking you to be Miami's recruiting coordinator, merely saying if you are going to beat the drum over and over about something, could you simply provide some alternatives you would prefer to discuss.

Grace has made comments that make it sound like he is coming back. AQM has simply said no comment.

Nothing about those numbers being final has been stated.

2016 Early Enrollees

Shaq gonna eat himself into a DT. He needs to trim down because I don't think we're going to be running that slow Folden defense featuring bloated LBs.

Shaq's dad said on this forum that the plan is to trim down to maintain his agility and speed. Dad acknowledged that Shaq has enjoyed recruiting food too much and both understand what's needed to be done.

Now that the season is officially over and the staff seems to be pretty much put together our focus can shift to All-Star games and Official Visits. The festivities begin next week with UA game and then the Army game the following week. I don't expect any commitments at the games since none of our realistic targets have visited officially yet. Although I would love to be surprised. Once the All-Star games are over the official visits will start the week after 1/15:

Couple of All-Star games to watch this weekend if you are bored.

The UA game will feature 4 UM commits and a handful of targets, unfortunately Devwah Whaley who recently decommited from UGA and was offered by Richt announced that he will declare his final decision at the game between UGA, Ark, and Texas.

The Semper Fidelis originally had no UM commits or targets but recently a trio of DL playing in the game has come up on our radar.
