CJ Bailey needs to come home

I swear I think more people would want Bailey if he wasnt from Miami. I was guilty of this too at one point because I assumed people only wanted him because he was a local kid and then I actually watched him play. The kid has some nice tools and seems to be getting better. I wouldn't care at all if he ended up being the guy. He's shown enough at nc state that if you give him a legit supporting cast he can get us back to the playoffs next season

We talked about everyone. I thought Arnold was a great reclamation project. I also liked the Pribula pickup for Mizzou and that was a bust.

But as far as pushing guys to be the QB for Miami, those three (Mateer/Mendoza/Beck) were the focus because they made the most sense for us.

When the f** k did I say that. Sounds like you have a reading comprehension problem. I like Bailey, good skill set, but as acknowledged has some weaknesses.but nothing that can’t be coached up. Our back ups, which I didn’t mention also need to be coached up, but for the life of me I haven’t seen that. If it’s not happening, it needs too, bc backups are behind. IMO. Bailey had good numbers, but it’s not just about that. It’s about progression to the next level. As he goes so does the team.

We wanted and offered big $$ for Maiava. His agent even tried to push him to Miami, but the family wasn’t having it.

So you think he's a project , just less of a project then the guys on our roster who we haven't coached up so therefore you beleive Bailey wont get much better here based off that, got it.
I happen to beleive that aside from Coleman our QB evals have been bad & Bailey posses more natural talent then all of them but thats just my opinion.
 
Novosad just entered portal. And I'd be surprised if Moore doesn't declare. Doubt Akili Smith is gunna be given the keys.

Sorby imo should be Oregons #1 target. After that I could see them going for Leavitt. It'd be hilarious if Oregon went for Bailey. He actually lowkey feels like a fit for what theyd like.

We absolutely were interested in Maiava. He was their backup to Beck anc they'd have taken him if he said yes after Beck declared.

Miami was all-in on Ward, but they were open before Beck said yes.

I expect a similar story this year.

Man you make a lot of assumptions. I don’t think he’s a project, I think he’s not my first choice, but he’s pretty good but could use some tweaking to be better. I think our QB room has been neglected and definitely needs work. JFC, wtf is with some of yall and lack of respect for good coaching. How the f**k do yall think these kids got to D1.

Here’s the deal on Bailey, he has a weak arm, and he struggles in reading defenses and against pressure. Those are facts. He has a long way to go. If he’s our quarterback next year, I’m not happy. Not saying he can’t take a big leap, but it would have to be a huge leap.
