CJ Bailey needs to come home

He's surrounded by absolute trash and is a true FR yet still balling..He's also doing this in a non-gimmick offense. His talent is undeniable
If we could pull that kid, 100% good with it. 3 years to play but likely jumps after two.

They don't ask Mendoza to do more because he's not capable of doing more.

He's had only Three 300yd+ games in 3 years as a starter & all of them came last year.

Whenever he's been put in a situation where he had to do more than what's outside of the confines of the system, he regresses to the mean.

Indiana is not winning because of his "elite" QB play, they're winning because they have a very good Defense & 4-man rushing attack.

His job is to play safe & not turn the ball over; same thing JJ McCarthy did for Cheatagain.

He's not been remotely close to being the best QB in the nation this season & is only looked at as a Heisman candidate because QB play overall is way way down from last year.

Indiana went 11-2 making the playoffs last year with Kurtis Rourke as their QB basically putting up the same numbers Mendoza is now. Acting as if Indiana's success is because of Mendoza is shortsighted.

They're the same team they were last year.

If we're grading all QB's by the same standards, IMO what Mendoza does in games doesn't match the hype & fanfare he receives, both on this board or Nationally.
Indiana was 0-2 against ranked teams last year. They are 2-0 this year. They aren’t the same team and Mendoza is a big reason why.

I don’t care about 300-yard games. This isn’t North Texas.

Mendoza has 17 TDs, 2 INTs with 9.3 yards per attempt and 71% completion. He’s throwing to every quadrant of the field and is a projected first round pick. And his team is ranked in the Top 3.

The guy is good and the rest of America knows it.

Excellent college quarterback.

There is a vocal minority on this board that views Mendoza different than the rest of the world for some reason.
What White flag is there to wave 6 games into the season? Was there a National Championship game that took place this weekend that none of us knows about?

If Indiana isn't the same team as last year, then they at minimum should finish the season with only one loss & be a shoo-in for the National title game, right?

And of course you don't care about 300 yard games, because why would a QB be expected to uphold a standard that he rarely ever reaches. QB's were judged by their numbers until it came time to start categorizing the ones who can actually separate themselves from the middle of the pack & then all of the sudden the numbers get thrown out conveniently.

Indiana has a cakewalk schedule the rest of the way, they shouldn't lose a game this season if Mendoza is who you say he is...

Excellent is a tough one - I’m not ready to give that one out. Kid is really good - let’s see where the season goes. FWIW, he’s a good kid from a really good family. I used to know the mom back in the day - incredibly good people….all of them
Ok, he’s a very good college QB, if makes you feel better. Put him in top 5 or whatever, though admittedly not a great crop this year. Seems like a really nice young man, smart, engaging, team guy. Wish him the best unless plays against Canes.

Meanwhile the rest of the cane/ducks fan base stays quiet as Mendoza/Emory does his thing bringing in a W on the road in Eugene... & Lil tommy takes yet another L while he's trying to find someone who actually beat them. Canes fan base on suicide watch this week. Maybe the eye test with untrained eyes ain't the way to go fellas. Matteer looked like ****, CJ ****, on & on. I'll tell you what though. If for whatever reason we decide to take one more starter at QB from the portal it better be that boy from Washington. That boy is cold! Hee the ONLY one I'd take in front of Luke or dereon.
I forget about Washington but they're solid and that qb is **** good.

Not sure what's going on with USCe but they just can't score points.

i'm not crazy for sellers but a few USCe fans i follow are adamant about SC getting an OC, if Beamer isnt shown the door. They H A T E Mike Shula. Also not thrilled about the OL but seems that coach got canned this morning.

Welp. #1 I didn't say they're success is BECAUSE of Mendoza. It's not. Their success is because they have arguably speaking the best coach in the country. They have a team that is very complementary towards each other. To act like Mendoza doesn't do every bit of his part would be what shortsighted. Now for the rest of what you stated, #2 Mendoza hasn't started 3 years. As a freshman he started six games for Cal playing in nine total and split duty in one of those six games as well. I respect your opinion. However due to the fact I physically was at quite a few of those games or practices when he was a freshman at Cal, I know he can do far more than what's asked of him. That's not me asking you for an opinion nor saying that you should care about mine. Simply stating I don't need to know anything more about him when I've seen it myself. I'm not saying that he is the best quarterback in the country or anything similar. What I'm stating is my belief that he will be a good NFL quarterback & he is a large part of the success of any team he plays for. You don't have to feel that way. But I do. I personally don't pay attention to any of the fanfare any player receives because for the most part I think most fans don't know **** about what they're watching. I definitely don't think the vast majority of media knows **** about what they're watching. A quarterback's job is to set his team up to win. That's it. Whether that's one week throwing for 200 yards in high efficiency short passes etc like everybody's other favorite quarterback in Dylan riola or it's throwing for 400 yd and 50 attempts a game. As long as your quarterback isn't a liability I'm not sure what else you want out of him.

Not that I don't see some potential with Bailey and think he should definitely be in the convo…BUT…He looked like a **** dear in headlights the parts I saw of the game yesterday (admittedly not all of it)
