CJ Bailey needs to come home

That's the point....UM SHOULD HAVE TAKEN MIKE WHITE. Took Kevin Olsen likely could have had both.

Miami doesnt get qbs drafted until Cam Ward....yet snubs their noses up to south fla qb talent lol

**** that last paragraph hits it. When you’re right you’re right. I haven’t advocated for Mensah either but he would be a great choice
it doesnt hit ....Mensah was one of the first qbs threads were made up about asa target last year then Manny snatched him b4 anyone had a chance... We got tulane/um fan on here that gave us the rundown on mensah early. He was talked about then it went to Mateer.

Cant believe we didn’t recruit him more aggressively. Maybe the home schooling and grade skipping gave us pause. But how do UF and Ole Miss get first shot at a kid from who is from Dade and Pahokee?
1. Pahokee kids never come to Miami....

2. Who knows where this kid is from...lol...his sh*t was all over i dont even know he was even a real kid until he showed up at ole miss.

You listed why he wouldnt be recruited kid was home schooled n randomly moved to pahokee...then had college credits man his transcript process likely was a mess aplace like ole miss would take it though....then its clear helicopter dad so i would avoid

Pay

I agree about Mendoza.

Not sure where he was born but my understanding is Z. Poyser's dad went to McAurther.
holy sh*t he did indeed go to my hs. lol

Quick search on my socials i have 150 mutual friends as Poyser's dad.....never looked it up but yea im tempted to say he worked at the school when i went there as a teacher. Small World.

No wonder it was really easy for Poyser to transfer here...his parents are s.fla ppl Sort of like Mike pinkney whole fam was from Carol City.

It’s a looong season. However, if the season continues on this trajectory, Austin Simmons will be my QB1 option from the portal (that’s if he enters).

If the argument is
- "Miami should recruit/take the Mendoza / White type QB prospect out of HS" -- my response is absolutely, they're high floor guys that, when developed, can get it done at this level with a good enough team around them.
By get it done I mean Championships. And by good enough team I mean Top 6 in team talent (which should be the expectation when Cristobal is HC and the program is given the necessary resources).

If the argument is
- "That type of college QB is a round 1 pick/ talent that can navigate you through a CFB playoff bracket against teams that hold the talent advantage over you" -- I would disagree with that.

It’s more about being ready for the NFL. Quarterbacks with a lot of starts tend to do better, and those with less starts often bust.

This. You’ll be hard pressed to find a college quarterback with less than one season as a starter of having a decent NFL career.

Peyton Navarro @ Ohio from Chandler, Arizona is pretty good almost beat Rutgers and played well against the Buckeyes in the Shoe

Millions spent to engineer it for space while Russia just used a mechanical pencil

Interesting factoid- NASA looked at using mechanical pencils from the beginning of the space program but the problem is that it creates little flakes of floating graphite which can interact with sensitive electronics. They had especially low risk tolerance after a fire linked to a short circuit killed 3 astronauts. Soviets had a far higher risk tolerance as their ethos was “we can always get another cosmonaut.”

Also nasa didn’t engineer the pen, it was made by a private company (cost them millions to develop) and sold to NASA but I’m sure it wasn’t cheap to buy!

I'm legit just asking this question cause I don't know. You follow high school far more than I do. So in the last say 10-15 years what south Florida QBs (since Lamar) have their been that actually produced at a high level or a decent one even from college or pro?

Williams followed Fisch to Washington from Arizona. Why wouldn't he follow him to UF?
Jedd will be nowhere near uf. Doubt they even look at him unless they miss on ten to 15 options before him. They're gonna chase big fishes. Knowing them and how desperate they will be to make a splash it'll be like unc did with the belichick twins & it'll be a big name who has no clue how to coach at the college level in today's climate. Just my guess.

Im speaking from out of hs perspective.

South fla qbs are generally underrated. They usually dont have the prerequisite size....but when they do we should indeed recruit em...even if a #2 in a class.

Here's the problem and I'm not putting this on you, but its the hypocritical **** constantly done on here. If we take Mendoza or anyone even vaguely similar to him or his profile coming out of high school damned what they eventually may turn into. We all know all that will happen is the canes support staph(i.e. canes fans/corches) will simply cry what the **** are we doing it's just another Emory or Judd or pick a name so long as the profile matches. We're a national program and reality is QBs from down here atleast at the high school level aren't advanced. Most haven't received adequate training/coaching and wouldn't contribute for years. The fact we even continue to have these conversations related to bailey the day after he came off of yet another loss and a basic performance illustrates the point. We should be recruiting national QBs with elite upside. Not kids who you can only imagine what they may become due to nothing but measurables... Neiman Lawrence is the ONLY QB I want from down this way and it ain't even a discussion beyond that for me

This is so ******* true I’m so sick of hearing about the guy who is a quarterback at NC State who couldn’t beat a team that just fired its coach five days ago because it’s such a dumpster fire

Also, just my opinion, but for those who think that JKS is a target in a portal I don’t think so. He was a five star originally committed to Cal went to Oregon saw that it wasn’t for him or that he was getting beat out or both and went back to Cal. And if you don’t think Cal has the ability to pay him a ton of money despite what happened with Mendoza I’m telling you right now that their boosters will come out to change the narrative and not let that guy get away. I think he actually just wants to be there as well which is priceless.
Call has the money to get or keep anyone they want in limited sample sizes. They can't do that throughout the roster or classes. But they can certainly do that with a small handful yearly.
