CJ Bailey needs to come home

Id like to see how he progresses throughout the year. Highlights look amazing, but I watched him yesterday and not completely sold YET. Hes still young, lets see at the end of the season. We must have NFL QBs. That needs to be our highest investment. So whoever is the best available, regardless of where he is from.... get him!

Let’s bring C.J. Bailey home next season. I was disappointed we didnt go after him harder out of high school.

I'd rather bring that UL RB home; but if you had to choose between Bailey and Cal freshman to pursue next season who would it be?

Wouldve sat for two years...but i like watching other schools develop and get our future QBs quality game reps.

No I’m saying this as if we could have just signed him out of high school. Who would you rather have on your roster, CJ Bailey or Judd (not an FBs quarterback) Anderson?

If we want to start developing our own guys instead of relying on transfers, it has to start with recruiting guys who are actually capable of development.
Definitely CJ Bailey. You're right. I've made this same point before that you're making.

I was just more so referring to the fact of us "having" to pay him next yr. If he's even available. He might not even want to come here anymore. I can see him somewhere like Louisville honestly.

I am quite confident the majority of people in here have only watched highlights or very little of Bailey. We are at a level where we are trying to win championships, now. This kid has come a ways from Chaminade, particularly running. Still not a elite runner. He isn't on Mendoza's level right now. He has 10 games to get better accuracy. He has talent. I think the QB portal would have to be pretty average for us to take Bailey as he is right now. That could change.

Becoming painfully obvious.

If 1. QBs need reps to win games. and 2. Playoff programs can't afford to lose games... then 3. QBs on playoff programs will be sourced from other teams

I've posted this a couple times before, but the only workaround I see is to have a boomerang in the NIL contract, where we essentially subsidize a QB's NIL to go play at another program like FIU, then they come and play for us after a year or two in the minor leagues. Come to Miami as a freshman, redshirt and develop under the best coaches and run the scout team, transfer to an FIU type school and play for a year or two, transfer back to play for Miami.

I haven't been a fan of CJ Bailey's. To me even his success only comes against marginal competition. But I'd have to say he does seem to be developing at a level I personally didn't believe he had in him. That being said if he continues to develop he's only going to be willing to transfer to a place that gaurentees him a starting spot. That ain't us. With nickel and Coleman in the fold were not promising no one nothing.
You like nickel ?

My concern is that the shark tank will be much more active this year given transfer QBs with reps are now proven to be much more reliable than developmental QBs. So instead of 5 programs all bidding for Ward or Beck, it will be 25. Ward was 1.5M, Beck 3M+. Next portal, instead of 3M, the winner will probably pay double again.

We're super lucky there are a few Florida native options who will most likely be in the portal. Going to cost us a lot more this time around though.

Mario and Company can’t develop a HS qb to save their lives
You have to give them credit for Herbert. I think just the way things are now it’s easy to get a proven qb. But I’d like to have somebody that’s here more than one year
