CJ Bailey needs to come home( He isn’t )

You have to be a real ******* moron to argue that he was incorrect about Mendoza after he led his team to an undefeated national championship, a heisman, and was the first overall pick.

How would you know the take about arch is bad yet? Lol
Lmao based on the whole of last season and what the word is out of camp this year. Dude is going to year four and hasn’t looked good yet. Saying arch is a stud, after what we saw last season, is a bad take. End of story. And just out of curiosity when did I ever say his take on Mendoza was bad, those words never exited my mouth? But his takes on Bailey and arch is bad and based on what we’ve seen so far, hasn’t changed. Now, maybe arch will play better this year, but I doubt it.

Based on the whole of last season where Arch was good overall and his 1st yr starting? It's such a bad take to say the dude that is like 2nd in heisman is a stud that you're saying D doesn't know ball? Lmao, get a grip dude. If heavily bet Arch is going to be quite good this yr. Now will that be because he is a stud or becUse of improved talent? Idk, but I'd also heavily bet whenever he declares for the draft he WILL be the #1 pick. So if that happens arguing that D was wrong about Arch is also stupid. Stupider though is saying he doesn't know what he's talking about cause he thinks the guy everyone is mocking at 1 and picking for the heisman is good lmao

Look I disagreed strongly with the Bailey take as well. But to act like because Mendoza had a bad preseason that he was wrong with that one is pure ******* stupidity.

Regarding Bailey though, I absolutely think he will play in the NFL. Will he ever be a starter? Maybe for a couple games ... He will probably be drafted. And if he were playing for us behind our OL, with our RBs and WRs, I'm sure he would look significantly better than he looks at ncst. Doesn't mean I think hes the type of guy we should have targeted - that's why I wanted Mensah...

Someone commented that his Mendoza hype looks bad BECAUSE OF THE PRESEASON. - which you liked.

He responded to that.

You then commented on his response talking about his Mendoza take, and started with "digging your heals in".

Now maybe you didnt mean ANY of that regarding Mendoza, in which case I wonder if you are going to Say D was 100% correct about Mendoza? Hmmm I'll wait to see

This seems like a shot at him for asking them to get JoJo. Doeren didn’t slip when he said “hisguys” and not “our guys”

I stopped reading where you said arch was good overall because that just lets me know you don’t know what the **** you’re looking at either. But I’ll give you a little dose of reality on it sport and maybe it’ll sink in your brain. Arch was god-awful the first half of the season and the only reason people think he was good in the second half is because the first half was so awful! Look at the stats sport. He was average at Best the second half of last season. Those are facts, not made up nonsense that you just spewed in your post.

Again, those words never exited my mouth, you wanna address that to whoever that poster was, feel free, but I never said that! So take your assumptions or better yet agendas and shove them where the sun don’t shine sport!

he either thinks too much or he doesn't think enough. I cannot tell what his issue is. He looked like it was his first game as a freshman.

There was talk about how positive everyone was during camp. How good the offense looked. No wonder; the defense stinks. It's the same issue Miami had a few years ago.

Didn’t have a take i needed to retroactively defend as i wasn’t pro-Bailey….For clarification:

NC State took two TEs and three other transfer WRs besides the Miami duo. In addition to Terrell Anderson going to USC, they lost Noah Rodgers to Alabama and Justin Joly to the draft.

Their biggest loss is still on their team: Teddy Hoffman. Another South Florida WR. He was suspended for PEDs in the spring. Would’ve been one of their starters.

They brought back Keenan Jackson who had 28 catches last year and he had 2 catches for 6 yards. Transfer WR from Buffalo, who had 117 catches 1466 yards & 14 TDs the past 2 seasons; had 1 catch for 5 yards yesterday. App State transfer who started his career at Arkansas, had 20 catches for 448 yards last year; and only had 2 catches for 14 yards yesterday. The other transfer WR didn’t do anything.

They certainly are depending on Jojo however it doesn’t appear like they bet everything on him and Chance. They have four Carolinas freshmen WRs they brought in who will have a chance to rise up the depth chart expeditiously. Their third highest signee from the ‘25 class is also a WR and he has no stats as of yet.

“Lost all respect…not knowing what he’s talking about” as it applies to evaluating players is a bit strong. All of us - myself included - have thought and/or proclaimed certain players to be something they turn out not to be. I thought Lorenzo Lingard was going to be a stud. I thought Josh Allen was going to be the next JP Losman. I don’t have a podcast and website, so I don’t get blasted for those takes. I also thought Cici, Bain and Samson would be studs. I’m not a member of the D$lurp Club either.

People overcomplicate it. Three of the best four (or so) QBs of the past 20 years - Manning, Brady and Brees - are pretty average in terms of athleticism.

Athletics traits are great, but you have to be able to process information at an exceptionally high level to be a top QB. The problem with most evaluations is that people want to try to find the next Lamar/Josh Allen and overvalue athleticism and “arm talent”.

In fairness, it’s really hard to project how a kids ability to process information will progress, so it is understandable that we fixate on athletic traits. But if we were to prioritize what’s between the ears on some of these guys, we’d see a whole lot less Anthony Richardson’s going 4th overall.

It’s wild to me that people have Manning rated ahead of Chambliss. Be honest, who would you rather have to stop in a 2 minute drill with the game on the line?

Bottom line is, we make QB evals harder than they need to be

I agree, losing all respect is strong, let me rephrase it. I don’t trust a thing. D money says when it comes to evaluating players at all. This CJ thing and his continuing of arch Manning as a stud, he just doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
I’ll say this, I don’t think his QB evaluations are worth much. Part of this is my ego saying that is I strongly disagree with his takes on CJ, Mendoza and Arch. To keep it completely fair, QB has to be the toughest position to project by a lot.

Fair points all around.

I only became pro Bailey if we could get JJ for it during their cycle. Which was complete bs, JJ wasn’t going to disrespect his boy but he knew he was a jag. And he went to OSU

To me I’m cool with bad takes if you openly admit it all the time. I do that cause idk wtf I’m saying half the time. If you put excuses for your take or for the player then I lose respect.

This place is going to be radioactive levels of toxic when Hoover goes like 30TD:8INT this year and Mendoza’s Heisman season looks remarkably similar to that of all time greats Kurtis Rourke and Josh Hoover under Cignetti.

You left out undefeated championship season and #1 overall pick. Don’t remember Rourke doing either.

Some people will never take their Ls on that one.

The irony is even the greatest recruiters in football are wrong half the time. So much is out of the evaluator's control. Every one of us gets takes wrong. WTF cares? Like you say, admit it and move on. I was a huge Tate Martell fan.

I liked Bailey over Judd and Emory, so have always been in favor of having him as a Cane. I never saw him as the next Cam Ward or Lamar Jackson. But I definitely thought he was much better than how he played yesterday, that was a god awful performance.

For the 1 billionth time.....JJ was never coming here
Process>results. I only say that because we literally tried to push late for cj so we obviously thought there was a chance or thought it was more we could do..And cj was just better than judd.
