Helping Restore a Legacy

Charlie Strong, Miami's new co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, has plenty of experience and know-how. His goal now? Help the Hurricanes restore their legacy at linebacker and beyond.

Another great article from Christy.

We all know Charlie's resume' so I won't dwell on that. The reason I'm posting this article is to highlight what every other coach has said about why they came to Miami.

Number 1 was because of their respect for Mario and his track record of success and work ethic.

Number 2 was because it's Miami. The legacy of championships and wanting to help return Miami to it's former championship levels. Also mentioned is the commitment by the university and the community to provide the necessary resources required to elevate the program to championship levels.

It's been an absolutely stunning turn of events these last few months. We've got much to look forward to in the coming months and years.

Charlie Strong as a LB coach in the NFL makes more sense than him being a COLLEGE LB coach, yet here we are. Yeah, this is nothing like every other year.

You got Charlie Strong and Kevin Steele is the same defensive room and you are telling me you dont see a difference? Lol. Smh. There could be an argument made that pound for pound these are 2 of the top 10 DCs of the last 20 years. Charlie Strong is definitely in the top 10.

For a fanbase that's pretty excited about this new regime I'm through the roof with it. I have expectations of big things this year and not that frustrated type of expectation that is rooted in what we're supposed to be because of the 80s to early 2000s.

I think we'll be good this year because our Roster has legit talent and our staff is Elite. There will be guys that "underperformed" thus far that will improve dramatically because of a huge increase in the investment into them and development.

You know good and **** well Manny Diaz, Al Golden, Randy Shannon and Larry Coker were among the hottest coaches in the country. Mark Richt had a QB coach that had a resume worthy of Alabama consideration. This current staff is just, meh, I guess.

How excited am I about this staff? I think they can make Flagg a decent player.
