I agree our run blocking this year leaves a lot to be desired.

Im not one of those crowing Mallory yet, but he has been playing better than Pringle so far this year. I’m not saying that he is better, but he’s looked a little better so far. I actually think Mallory has looked good in other games besides the FAMU game. This isn’t a Jordan Lyle situation where he was crowned off one 90+ yard run and has done nothing since.

Yes, Fletcher is elite and we need him back going forward. Need everyone back for that matter.

Mallory had 2 very easy outside runs vs Stanford where we did actually seal the edge. He ran to the the sideline on 1 and on the other he got chased down and tackled by the 1st defender. That's the super impressive 20 yards. All he had to do is not trip on himself. That being said Mallory looks like a good prospect. He definitely can break tackles and gets upfield. Seems to have good vision. Way too small of a sample size to say much else.

Great burst and runs like his life depends on it. He looked way more impressive than Lyle or even Pringle tonight.

His economic life did kind of depend on it. He was great with his chance.

No burst, no vision, no footwork, no balance, no shiftiness, no power, no blocking, no pass catching. He has top end speed, but he can't ever get there due to his other deficiencies. That is all.

Are those qualities needed for the job?

Hot hand vs central michigan backups should not boost you up to rb2..That’s crazy. He is at best rb4. You can’t make big shifts based on garbage time reps vs terrible teams

People tend to forget a running back has other jobs too. How is he at pass protection? Is he a legitimate receiving threat? These factor in his playing time as well.

I did like what I saw, but this is his third year so you have to think there are areas he's still developing.

Isn’t this what we did with Jordan Lyle after that USF game a couple years ago?
