Personally, I like Mallory at number two. Kid looks like the complete package and will only get better with more S&C. But CWH lit it up so the others need to earn their snaps back.

It’s what you do at Practice. If you are standing out at practice, you will earn snaps.

Sure, give him a chance to have some carries moving forward but the same people crowning him will be the 1st to trash him if he struggles vs an ACC team

I don't think anyone is saying to start the kid or have him on before Mallory. It is obvious he is better than Lyle and should be in before him. He is possibly as good as or better than Pringle.
 
Most of his carries were with the second team offense against CMU’s second team defense so I’ll take his performance with a grain of salt. The thing is, Pringle and Lyle both looked unimpressive so maybe he deserves a shot with the first team.
 
Dude balls against central Michigan back ups and mufuggas forget that Pringle single handily turned around iour running game last season….. 🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾
 
Pringle is designed to come in and run off tackle after Fletch (and formerly Marty) pound the **** out of the defense. Pringle is fine. Lyle looks like he’s never regained his explosiveness. Looked slow last year and no different this year.

Pringle outshined Fletcher and looked like the better back the back half of the regular season.. he just can’t block…

Agree. He comes in and gives a different gear that’s why he had so much instant success. Can’t block for sh&t. But he’s fine.
 
All I know is Lyle and Pringle still suck. It's great we have these bodies for depth but 2 and 0 need fewer opportunities.
 
He trucked that one dude, it was great to see. However, he pulled up on that td run he had, why he got caught from behind at the goal line, finish the runs, never assume you’re having an easy score.
 
Imo you reward the hot hands and he earned to be #3 back vs clemson. We rotate so much its not some huge disruptive move anyways. Make lyle hungry to take it back vs clemson.

And yes i consider mallory #2 right now

I'm not sure how many times I have to explain this, Pringle is mostly a between the tackles runner. Just cause he's smaller doesn't mean he's an outside runner only. give him any kind of hole and he's got 7-10 yards in a blink with that acceleration and direct style. He is a true slasher hitting the hole direct and with speed. Our other backs take way way longer to get going. That's the main difference, you barely even see Pringle until he's tackled for a 7 yard gain.

As far as who is #2 it seems to be both Pringle and Mallory depending on what is needed. They are using Mallory if they need a bit more bulk to grind out 3 yards. This is probably how it should be, but they are clearly trying to get Pringle involved and cooking.

Mallory can break some darn tackles tho. He may end up breaking more than big Fletch due to him running lower. Very impressive so far.

Glad to see my guy Pringle finally get some decent blocking and have a good night also. I think we have a heck of a combo moving forward with Pringle and Mallory. Perfectly complementing each other.
