2023 Chris Johnson Jr

Not sweating this one either way. Looks small and it says something that Ole Miss, not Georgia or Bama, are the main competition for this kid.

If he commits, cool. If not, cool. Baxter is the RB we need

😧
Thought that kid was a UGA lock. If they take Downs away from them too and Aguero picks us, the tears will be top notch.

Even worse he’s a UGA legacy they had him in every mock class. Ol Rusty just said him & Downs are friends & Bama was already surging for Downs before this kids commitment. I really need Aguero to pick us cause the fans will be rioting against Rusty & the other writers over there lol

Bama is trying to take 2 RBs. They want Young..... Haynes said he is going to start recruiting Young to join him at Bama..

His dad is an OC and wants to know how Miami plans to use Chris.

Valid concern.

Y'all stop with all the other ridiculous narratives.

Chris is not a traditional RB. He's a different type of player. To maximize his potential, he needs to be used a certain way.

And it doesn't matter if we have Ole Miss former RB coach. Kevin Smith doesn't determine how the RB's are used. Dad wants to see something from Gattis.

Have him watch some Michigan film from last year..

That wait and see approach is fine but who exactly does he compare himself to currently on the roster? What Gattis does with Chaney, Franklin and Citizen doesn’t seem like it will help. Last year Gattis had Haskins, Corum and Edwards. All got opportunities and did things that fit them in the different stages of their development. Not sure there is a clear player comp currently on the Miami roster to Johnson Jr unless the family thinks Knighton is that and they’ll focus on his opportunities.

Respectfully, coach, both Restrepo as you well know and Brashard were swiss army knives in high school and have been developed that way as Canes. Even with the regime change X man is getting more looks than ever. And our coaches can't be more clear about their desire for speed.

But it's the kid's and family's decision. There's no rush right now, so I'm happy they're taking their time to get it right. I do hope Smith and Gattis are building other options at the same time.

My guess is what they do with Knighton plus what they do with Restrepo and Brashard.

I suspect Knighton will be a decent comp in terms of role in the system.

Shouldn’t he look at Michigan film and watch how Gattis used them?

Michigan and Alabama had extremely high usage of their RB's with Gattis there. Starting to call BS with this narrative

Ole miss should be in the same boat as us given their OC is gone as well. We saw how gattis used Parrish in the spring game in multiple ways. And imo Johnson and rooster have very similar traits..should be interesting.

This is a problem for defenses. Having multiple dudes that can be the so called Swiss Army knife.
Most schools have one explosive RB that can catch or one explosive wr.
I’m still waiting for the oc that can take full advantage of what he has in the stable. Adding Ray Ray and Johnson is gonna make it even more of a problem plus the TE’s.

Lashlee couldn’t do it maybe cause of the online. But we’ve left a lot of yards on the field imo the last few years.
