Checking temperature..How Ya'll feeling that Stanford opener?

Just getting to go to this game was a negotiation with the wife. This game cost me a side quest to Napa right after the game to appease Mrs Jedi.

Mind you...we're celebrating MY birthday that weekend and I had to negotiate.

We're going to destroy them . I already spoke to Rio and told em to win one for the gipper. Bet the mortgage.

You're closer than they are. Stanford will be a 8 win team which is significantly better than most give them credit for. Luck is very hands on with their development. It's just a process. Other issue is team will need some time to develop. I'd be weary on putting everything on a qb who had tulane or Tulsa and one year at puke when they played no one as his pedigree. I'm just really thankful how the schedule plays out. Cause we need that time to line the interiors come together on both sides of the ball.

Wow, that’s a big improvement for Stanford. Besides Luck, why are they going to be so much better this year?

Some analytics had us at a top 20-25 offense with beck, a mediocre run game for half the regular season and one great wr. We should be at minimum top10 this year, the ceiling is top3 and the only reason we wouldn't reach either of those is if the oline is just bad

If we only win by 21, there will be riots in this chat. That would mean we came out and looked really bad for stretches of the game, offensive line sucked and we turned the ball over a couple times due to poor pass blocking (Mensah’s one weakness is his fumbles).

I’d be shocked if this isn’t a Top 10 offense nationally in essentially every metric. I think we have the best skill players collectively in the entire country. With just a slightly above-average OL combined run/pass blocking, we are going to embarrass people. It’ll be a lot closer to 2024 than it was 2025.

I’m assuming the OL is going to be, at worst, pretty good. Maybe I’m wrong. But I trust who we have and who is coaching it.

So, with that in mind, I genuinely believe a lineup of Mensah throwing to Barkate/Moore/Upshaw/Jacobs/Vaughn/Lofton and handing the ball to Marty/Pringle/Lyle is a Top 25-ish offense nationally.

Now add Malachi Toney and Mark Fletcher to that.

Mensah > Beck
Toney Year 2 > Toney Year 1
Barkate > Daniels
WR3 (take your pick) > Marion
Lofton has to be better than he was last year
Fletcher 2026 > Fletcher 2025
Marty 2026 > Marty 2025
Pringle 2026 > Pringle 2025
Lyle didn’t even really play last year

We upgraded literally every single spot on the entire offensive skill groups, and we have probably 10 kids between the WR and RB groups that start on 90% of the teams in the country.

I *think* Mario and Dawson have finally figured out that you can trust your defense AND be explosive on offense. In 2024, we threw it all over the yard because we knew we needed to score 30+ to beat anyone. They played the complete opposite last year. I think they finally have this roster exactly where they want it. They fully trust both sides and feel this can be an offensive AND defensive team. It’s finally all here. You don’t need to try to hide anything. If you had to, you can win a game 40-35, and also 20-17. I have to believe they finally get that.

I really couldn’t be more bullish on this team, but especially the offensive skill talent. We are ******* frightening.

This is what I’m telling the doubters, either from our fanbase or the haters who are just scared of Miami’s resurgence. They’ve moved the goalposts so many times, they can’t even remember where they moved it last.

“You lost Bain and Mesidor, your defense won’t be that good”

- Oh yeah? We have multiple former 5-star recruits to step into their positions.

“You lost multiple starters on the OL, Mensah is gonna be running for his life”

- Wrong again, Miami has recruited the OL as good or better than anyone the last 3 years and added a generational talent in Cantwell to go with that.

“Miami always blows a couple games, they won’t make the playoff”

- They lost those games because in 2024, our defense was bad and in 2025, our offense wasn’t good enough to finish teams off. 2026 will be much different because there will be games won by the offense and games won by the defense because we’re just that deep and talented on both sides of the ball at every key position.

What we’re going to see, in my opinion, is the culmination of the last 3-4 recruiting classes by this coaching staff. And more importantly, these guys have played in (and won) big games and made huge plays in critical moments. How many other teams can say that? Not many. And most importantly, this coaching staff learned how to win. No more playing it safe, playing not to lose. They’re gonna go out and there and punch teams in the mouth and play to win.

If Mensah can sit in the pocket like Beck got to do, I’m telling you, it’s over for everyone else. He doesn’t miss the layups. If a guy is open on a go route, it’s a chunk play or a touchdown. And those plays are gonna be there, a lot. Why? Because teams have no choice but to respect Fletcher, Brown, Lyle and Pringle. If they don’t, it’s death by 1,000 cuts. 5 yards runs, over and over, until their defense has their hands on their hips, sucking wind, and that’s when Fletcher or Lyle busts one for 50-60 yards and scores. These haters have no idea what’s about to hit them this year. This is the best team Miami has fielded since 2002, not even close.
 
Thank you for asking. I have run a deep analysis on the scheming, roster, and what I call the "travel factor". I have done endless computing of both macro factors, and micro factors. So it's bi-factor loaded analyzes! So I say we have a 91.2689% chance of victory!

Brother their Vegas win total is 3.5. With juice to the under. You could probably get 25/1 that they win 8 games. Maybe 30/1.

lol Stanford is not winning 8 games with that schedule fam. I do think they’ll be improved though. Them getting to a Bowl game would be a huge success
 
Just hoping we don’t mess around with these type of teams. Hoping last year was the last year of that. But we will see

We’re gonna have some close games. Every team does. Indiana was losing with a minute left to a terrible Penn state team. They were tied in the 4th quarter with Iowa. We’re not going to play our best game every week. It’s not possible. The hope is we’re talented enough to beat everyone we play without having to play our A game. I think we are.
 
I actually thought this was going to be about the temperature in Stanford at game time. Average Sept highs of 79 with lows of 54. Should not be an issue

Things are usually pretty clunky early in the season

Another reason I like the coaching continuity we should be better there than we have in the past
