Charlie Strong Texas Revival

Lets make this clear...Strong is NEVER coming to Miami. The admin has already "experimented" with a Black HC. They got their "golden boy" already.

As one very incompetent man once said about a job..."its a destination" that is what texas is.

Strong wouldnt bother showing up to a school with no fanbase or home stadium in any case.

I'll bet any taker a whole pie with 1 topping at The Big Cheese and a Joe Zagacki meet-and-greet that Strong lasts only 2 more years there. His recruiting classes look to be okay (on par with what Mack Brown did for years) but he'll have absolutely no margin for error in a state that now has several other programs challenging UT. Strong might be a good coach but he sucks at all the ancillary stuff off the field and won't have too many defenders if he doesn't produce in a huge way soon.

You pretty much nailed it.

His recruiting class isn't that much better than Baylor's and TCU's and he isn't a better coach than Briles or Patterson. If Strong isn't going to bring south Florida talent to UT then he has lost his advantage. He has 2 more years and then he will be out at Texas.

speaking of that, what's with these BTW guys getting crystal balled to texas? that's pretty embarrassing that we have their former HC on staff, whom is the father of the current HC and we still can't close. that's a major red flag in my book.

Doesn't hurt when you get a commitment from the no#1 linebacker and have Dylan Mack de commiting from A&M to take a look at your program along with LSU...Can you imagine Valentine next to Mack in a 4/3 defense..Hope Charlie lands him so he'll stay away from Fl JAGs.

Miami fan would be wearing Strong's *** out if he came to Miami had had the record he did at Tejas.

To add I think Texas fans are a lot like UM fans. They want Strong to build a fence around the state of Texas. Even if Strong was to go grab some guys out of Miami he better not grab more than a few or else the folks in Austin will be upset. Strong has to win with Texas HS players

Talking to TX fans on the highschool board they're glad Strong is tapping into FL they think it let the TX kids be on notice their will know since of entitlements giving to you. You're right about locking most the state down but 3 to 4 top FL kids a class they will be ok with. Shocking most are over only recruiting in TX they want to tap into other peoples states too. Smart Fans

F**k around and let him get into the playoffs next year and he'll become a bigger threat to south florida

The only threat to south Florida is the coach at Miami. Get a decent coach and we're good.

This. We land a stud coach and we're back almost immediately. I think almost every South Florida kid has an innate urge to represent on the local team. Especially one like The "U" with such an exciting and championship filled history. I just feel like a lot of them are saying to themselves, "man, I'd love to be a Cane and help bring them back, but... ah, the way things are right now, ...it's just not in my best interests. Sorry".

We got a lame running the show. You can't sell snake oil dreams at 6-6. Also, kids, unlike our learned admin, realize it is year 4, not year 1.

He better do a whole **** of a lot better next year or he'll be on the hot seat.

People are giving him credit for a 15th ranked class? Say what? His predecessor had top 5 classes pretty much locked up by fall camp. I won't say anything other than that right now since I'll give him until signing day. Should he not have a top 10 class though, he should receive criminal charges for dereliction of duties.

As others have noted, his record as it stands would be getting him murdered here.

Who the F cares if the guy gets top classes? All that matters is winning. and he will if he gets a qb.

Strong is just the type of guy you trust at evaluating football players. not like he didnt recruit a bunch of leftovers of fsu uf, and um to create a dominant team in kentucky of all places.

The only thing that i see really holding him back from success at texas is inability to get a qb.

The guy can motivate with the best of them and his gameday coaching doesnt leave much to desire... on top of that his defensive system is just **** good.. one of the best on football.

Dont really see how anyone can look at what hes done in his coaching career and think that he will fail at texas because he doesnt get what espn thinks is a good class......

Thats dumb.

He could fail... i just dont see it.
