A MASSIVE upgrade over Emmert but almost anybody would be. Baker is a supremely competent dude but he'll be heading essentially a feckless organization (in relation to big time football and hoops).

The most pertinent thing to us about this is IF the NCAA has any hand in actually adding some additional structure to NIL and/or the Portal then at least the SEC won't have a puppet. Baker is much more likely to listen to the B1G voices and associate culturally with the ACC.
