Chaney hurt again

I feel as though I’m the only person on the site excited about Thad Franklin. I think he gets carries & doesn’t look back. 4* player, First team all-dade, ran for over 2200 yards, & broke a 24 year old state championship record with 328 yards in state final & just thrown to the wolves.
The Hokies and Duke games made me think that he can be a player. Thought it was mostly going to be short yardage and late game/ run down the clock type of thing but now he has an opportunity for so much more.
Let's see what he can do.

Anyone think the practices have maybe become too physical?
Last year we lost two backs during the season, not before the season like now.

On the other hand, maybe the rewards of physicality exceed the risks of injury.

Running backs are the most vulnerable position…
Steele said they are hardly taking RBs to ground (on that ESPN road show).

Let's not count out #46 he looked goated in spring game. Just don't ask me his name.
Word for word what I was thinking

I’m like just put….uh….that beast from the spring game in there. Derosier? Or **** just use the Shannon approach and don’t even put the name on the jersey

Feel for Chaney. ***** gotta be a mental **** as well for a RB

That’s why I find the jokes and laughing at it kinda gross. I have a good friend who was legit Darren SproIes clone. 5’9 ( tad taller ) 200 , legit 4.4 and a absolute weight room freak. He kept having freakish injuries in HS to the point it broke his spirit. He just walked away. The guy who eventually took his spot had a ten year Nfl career. And was nowhere near as talented. Nobody tries to get hurt and it doesn’t mean you’re soft. It’s just how things happen some times.

When I heard the DC news yesterday my heart dropped. He was coming on strong and was starting to distinguish himself as the guy. Just like last year smh.

We have a serious number of cūnts on this site that blame players for their injuries - ironic since I’m sure most of them are complete asshoes that have never played the sport. Or they try to find someone else to blame like the coach, etc. Sometimes bad luck is bad luck. Do you know who else had horrible luck with injuries initially, I know you know, but a hint for others: he could end up easily being an NFL Hall of Famer.

It's funny how all the bickering of the RB room and order, has sorted itself out before the season even began smh
Bingo....That's exactly why we needed depth in the 1st place.

This is also the other side of the transfer portal... if you can't retain ur own guys, a season can easily be in peril due to an injury or two coupled with an unexpected transfer.

1yr sit out rule needs to be reactivated. Just don't take the kids redshirt and don't take 1 year of his eligibility. That way the kid has freedom of movement, makes him really think twice before leaving and also doesn't cost him any eligibility or his redshirt if he does decide to take his talents elsewhere. It would help the coaches with roster building and would greatly reduce the "tampering".

There’s another one already in the HOF. When he was in College people at his Sec program talked the same **** about him.

Lol.. They basically rushed him back now, I mentioned it before but was told times changed.. Did same with King, these guys overcompensate. King was diving head first for first downs he already had.. injured again..

Guy coming off major injury, I dont care if he is fully cleared, did you hear anything about days off or any type of pitch count? nope, so this is result

Yeah - I remember being very skeptical at the "King is 100% healthy" talk last year. You could see right away in the Bama game he wasn't 100%

I didn't expect Chaney to look 100% this year. Gotta hope this isn't too bad and people that know much better than me will handle this right

In the last few weeks, yall have been in every RB thread running off kids to the portal for no reason. There’s no need for any RB to transfer out. There’s plenty of carries to go around once you factor in attrition & injuries over the course of a long season. In a week we went from 5 bodies to 3. Y’all had Thad on transfer watch & now he’s gunna be getting snaps week 1 lol.

You don’t have a single clue what you’re talking about - let the adults speak.

Brashard Smith ran the ball LOT in HS, especially when Palmetto HS was on its playoff run. Smith ran sweeps, off-tackle and between the tackles in HS. Smith might be 200+ lbs. I think Smith could do it.
Yep. I thought he played qb a good bit because of injuries his Sr year. I’ve always viewed Smith as a gimmick guy, move him around to different positions and get him the ball in space. Receiver , Rb, direct snaps or returns.
