GMs just follow along w what everyone else is doing to play it safe
But history of SB winning QBs in salary
Cap era show that the teams that WIN the SB have QBs making less than top dollar and great
teams around them!
And multiple teams winning w QBs on rookie deal
Brady Mannnings and Brees always had team friendly deals
Then you look at Dilfer, B Johnson, J Flacco
Add in Big Ben on rook deal Russ Mahomes
…..Mahomes last year was first team to win SB w highest paid QB….and I’d argue they were **** lucky to win last year
