It was because Bama already beat them and to get us next to ND. They made up their mind Bama was in after Auburn. They needed to see BYU get dominated and then we and ND got compared for number 10. Yesterday couldn't have worked out better except Bama didn't do their homework assignment.

Bama should have been out and us and ND in at 9 and 10, respectively. And there’s no reason we shouldn’t have been ahead of ND before this. The whole “they’re not next to each other so we can’t compare head to head” is an arbitrary crock of mierda.

My take on Bama getting in is that if they were held out, Bama would have told the SEC they weren't playing in a conference championship again. And since the CFP Selection Committee is beholden to the SEC and ESPN, that was an unacceptable outcome.
