CFP Committee Rigging the System Almost Complete

We'd be ahead of Utah and Vandy if that were the case. I don't understand why we aren't ahead of both of those teams right now. Vandy already has a thread about them. Utah beat Jeff Sims led ASU and Cincy, while getting blown out by TTU at home.

I do think we will get in if we win out, but they will probably have to leapfrog us over other teams we are currently ranked below. Since the CFP comittee just makes **** up week to week, shouldn't be an issue for them.
the only ranking that matters it the last one. the rest is just tv noise. theyll get in the 12 teams they want regardless of where they are ranked right now. as long as we take care of business, were in

Mark this down: the Committee wants Miami and Notre Dame in the Playoffs because of the revenue that a Catholics vs. Convicts playoff game would bring. If Cristobal doesn't f**k things up and both the Domers and ourselves run the table, the Committee will find a way to ***** Vandy and some other team to make sure that they have a Prime Time Night game with both teams.

People are thinking this through too much and forgetting that the Committee are errand boys for the networks, especially DisneyESPN.

FWIW, not sure how many people saw this, but Miami has drawn over 30mil eyeballs for their TV games, 6 mil more than the next closest ACC team, which is ironically FSU.
Conversely, NC St. is last and SMU is just ahead of them at 3mil. It's business.

And you can probably throw another 10-12 mil conservatively over the next three on top of that.

The last thing anyone wants is a GT vs Vandy matchup...

It seems like I have to repeat this once a week, but we have historically been OVER-ranked by human beings. They want us in the playoffs. They want us in the ACCCG.
It’s too bad acc commissioner didn’t get memo to referees who routinely bed Miami over weekly which doesn’t help the cause

If Miami loses a game I hope Suke wins out and acc gets Zero teams in!!! Which is possible from what I read

There are enough variables that the committee can argue for whatever decision they want to make. There should be a clear and transparent formula to make playoffs. D3 does it, why can't D1? (Because they want some control to make sure bigger media draws get in if there are 2 teams where it is close)

If ND and USF are both in, Miami is one of 2 or 3 teams MAX that have 2 regular season wins over playoff teams....don't see how you could leave Miami out in this scenario

If we win out and ND win out, we'll be ranked close to each other and it could ultimately come down to ND vs Miami..... If that happens, I'd have to imagine the committee has their hands tied and has to pick Miami because of H2H. Otherwise why play the games?

Ultimately if Miami wins out and there are minimal upsets going forward that completely rock the boat, Miami is most likely in

Your first sentence is all that matters. Ultimately, the CFPC uses whatever criteria they want, when they want, which is why anyone on the bubble should be nervous.

I think the "performance" of Clemson and SMU in last year's playoffs may have made them realize the mistake of leaving out Miami. Unfortunately, our team can win any game and lose any game.
This pretty much sums up Miami, we could beat anyone, and lose to anyone

i think they set miami up to get in if we win out, which is fair. i think 15 is appropriate for us right now.

not worried about texas or OU bc both will be losing games (Texas has UGA and ATM and OU has Bama still).

same with vanderbilt (tenn).

UGA isnt even a lock to finish with 1 loss either.

if we go 10-2, well be in with an at large bid and well be in comfortably imo. them moving us up to 15 after another lackluster first half just shows itching to get us in.
I am not sure this is entirely true. We still need a lot of help. Those three SEC Teams losing is not enough. Our chances are at 10% now per the computers. We probably have a 50% chance of winning out.

Who’s they? Not to be that guy who throws around terms like “rigged” and I also don’t like to ***** about officiating, but my God that SMU game had so many questionable calls (and calling them questionable is being polite) that I start to think those ridiculous thoughts of someone somewhere rigging something because there were a solid 3-4 outrageous calls and if one didn’t happen or went our way, we’d have won easy.

Referees and poll voters are two different entities.

While agree with your statement about the SMU game. UVA and Louisville losing makes us the ACC’s best and realistic chance at doing anything in the playoffs.

I’d bet all three of my daughter’s college fund the ACC will give us every call and coin flip from here on out. Even in games that don’t impact us. The committee may not want the Duke doomsday scenario happening. But who really doesn’t? The ACC. The ACC would lose millions having two G5 teams pass them by for the CFP.

I just see the ACC being extremely favorable for us moving forward.

Everyone knew the deal. SEC and Big X will control the amount of teams their program will be in the playoffs. ESPN is in bed with SEC so the propaganda will influence everything.

This is just another example why Miami must leave the ACC. We are lucky to still have a chance at the playoff's. Our tough OOC schedule is saving us this season but it won’t moving forward with playing 9 conference games.

If ND and Miami and USF win out, all three are getting in. USF will be the G5 rep, and will probably be the sacrificial lamb for Taint or Indiana. They will set the Domers and ourselves in different Groups against manageable opponents so that it's REASONABLY possible that the Canes and the Irish meet for the Natty at the Rock.

This is all about TV ratings. DisneyESPN will get a huge payday from that game. It won't matter that Taint or Bama aren't one of the participants. In this case, the NCAA doesn't really matter (if it ever did). What they are trying to do is approximate the payoff from the Super Bowl so they can charge more to the Sponsors for every 30 seconds of Commercial Time, just like the NFL does.

ONLY Catholics vs. Convicts for the National Championship helps them like no other rivalry game.

That's why they threw a lifeline to Cristobal.

What they can't do is prevent Mario from f**king things up and acting like Woody Hayes in the 1973 Rose Bowl against USC (look that up).

I wish I had this belief but we’ve gotten the short end of the stick in every game this year. Why they’d all of a sudden change anything doesn’t make much sense to me
