With this comment, Mack Rhoades inadvertently explains how they have rigged the CFP for the SEC. “Strength of outta conference schedule” but then they allot 6 CFP slots to the SEC and also starting next year, they are making it mandatory that teams play 9 in conference games.
They have created a closed loop. They weigh SEC games more heavily than other conferences. SEC has no incentive to accept tough out of conference opponent. Teams out of the SEC conference lose the "strength of outta conference schedule" argument. There will be SEC teams with 3 or 4 losses getting in ahead of 1 or 2 loss ACC/Big12 schools.
Do the ACC and Big 12 even have living, breathing commissioners at this point?
