I've been hoping they do just that. I think there will be plenty of non-B1G and non-SEC school fans, like myself, who won't watch a playoff their school has no chance of playing in.

At this point they should all play a semi-final and finals game for each conference.

I think I would rather get screwed by the computer. At least the code could be reviewed to see if bias was inflected in any of the variables. With the committee, you know there are voters who straight up hate Miami and will use that to their favor and will never have to publicly expose those thoughts.

That first sentence was tough. I had to read it twice. You're right. Sad part is that NIL/Portal is like skin cancer while the $EC crap is like stage 4 lung cancer. Both are bad, but one will kill you quicker. I have to imagine there must be some sort of legal maneuvering that will have to take place in order for any real change to happen. I gotta be honest, the more this crap continues, the more I feel myself feeling repelled by college football....but I'm like a crackhead who loves dysfunctional relationships when it comes to this isht.

Hey ESPN/playoff committee, it’s probably smart to have a convo with the refs if you don’t want a playoff game or two featuring the ACC to tank viewership. Miami has double the viewership of GT and 6 times more viewership than the rest competing for the playoff (UVA/UL/Pitt)
 
Dude told no lies. The ACC sucks because ACC leadership sucks. Its a conference run by lawyers.

I've noted for decades now that the ACC referees will regularly direct the outcome of certain games with the intent of maximizing total conference bowl revenue. I.e.: If an 8-3 team is playing a 5-6 team in the final week of the season, the ACC referees will make sure the 5-6 team wins that game in order to get the ACC another bowl eligible team.

I am not even sure why so many people lose sleep over this discussion.

If you have ever heard the statement 'follow the money', than you should already understand why this is the case.

More confirmation the biggest issue for Miami is not the HC, the OC, or the QB.

The more pressing issue is leaving the ACC for either the $EC or more likely the B1G. The two conferences are working, successfully, to dominate the CFB market.
  • Highest TV rights revenues? Check
  • Automatic qualifiers for the 12-team CFP? 4 EACH? Check (at least seriously discussed).
  • Successfully recruiting most of the 5* players? Check (something like 45 or so of the top 50 last cycle?)
  • Cancelling OOC games in favor of a 9-game conference schedule? Check. Might end up $EC-B1G OOC only, with FCS home game layups.
Any team not in the $EC or B1G is on the outside looking in.
