I continue to wonder why Herby and Saban and others publicly pushed for Ole Miss to allow Sniffin Kiffin to coach them in the playoff game. That was both unethical and stupid advice.

My guess is that they know the committee is going to have to drop Ole Miss. They're going to get FSU'd.

Again it has nothing to do with metrics or resumes and everything to do with revenue. Do you think Sankey was kidding when he was talking about getting 5-7 SEC teams in. That’s a conference commissioner. We have an absentee landlord running a G6 conference.

Assuming BYU loses....The Bama game will still be a factor. If Bama wins, they'll stay in the CFP (obviously) and the final spot will come down to Miami and ND, thus (hopefully) using the H2H clause to get us in. If Bama gets blown out (won't happen), then they might drop out of the top 10 entirely and last two at large spots will be ND and Miami. If Georgia wins a close one (or within 1-2 scores), then Bama might drop 1 spot (which would be bad for us because that would put them in between us and ND. We'll get shut out of the CFP if that happens.

So, we are all Bama and BYU fans this weekend.

Even if Bama loses by 100 I don’t think they get dropped from the playoffs.

Do you think the committee that is taking its marching orders from ESPN/Fox gives a **** if any teams outside of SEC/Big10 get in. Do you think Sankey was kidding when he was talking about getting 5-7 teams in? That was a signal to the committee to get it done.

You're probably right especially given they were shut out of the playoffs last year.

I guess it really comes down to Bama winning. Need that.

BYU can either win or lose - won't matter for us. As long as ND and Miami are in the 10/11 slots at the end of the day. That's where we want to be.,

They already accomplished getting 5 SEC Teams in and the big 10 has 3 of the top 5 teams both those conferences are happy, ACC has a legit gripe if left out of the playoff if Duke wins and we don't jump ND. As much as I want to believe that they'll flip us and ND I think its still more likely Duke gets in over JMU because of SOS.

I don’t quite understand all the permutations.

But way I see it- if BYU loses Miami it moves to the 11 spot. If Bama wins, UGA isn’t dropping 7 spots to jump between Miami and ND. If Bama loses a close game, committee could just leave them where they are at and Miami still gets compared to ND H2H. Probably better if Bama wins but I think BYU is more important.

This is EXACTLY how I expect it to finish

They’ve shown they have zero desire to put us in or “next team up” on the bubble. We’ve been just far away to keep us out of discussion

Follow the money. Miami and ND are two of the biggest “move the needle” programs out there. Pitting them against each other in the final weeks is gold. Controversy sells, and there is no such thing as bad publicity when it comes to dough.

Yeah, they have 4/7 at-large bids and are enraged that Vandy and Texas aren’t in. Gaslighting.
