9 wins could happen, even more if we aren’t what I fear. I would likely change my outlook if we were to beat ND. I’m watching the front 7 and particularly, the middle of our defense,

If we beat ND I think 9 is a lock. A W/L split vs UF/ND is a MUST, and I don’t think it’s asking for much. Miami has spent more and brought in more talent over last 3 years than both of those programs.

I actually think the front 7 will be a strength of this team. To get anything above the 9/10 range (acc champ/playoffs) I gotta see it from the WR and TEs.

Will Miami Finally Make the College Football Playoff? CBS Sports Thinks So.

CBS Sports has released its annual bowl projections for the 2025–26 season, and they have the Miami Hurricanes making the College Football Playoff. In their projection, Miami is playing against LSU in the first round, with the Hurricanes listed as the No. 9 seed and the Tigers at No. 8.

The first round features several of last year's teams, including LSU, Miami, and Alabama, entering the field this year. CBS Sports has Penn State, Texas, Ohio State, and Clemson as the top-4 teams in the Playoffs.

Miami finished last season with a 10-2 record, with both losses coming by a combined total of just nine points to Georgia Tech and Syracuse. The loss to Syracuse in their final regular-season game ended up being costly; it kept them out of the ACC Championship Game, which could have helped their case for the College Football Playoff.

The pt that I was trying to make was that attempting to temper the expectations of MIA fans will inevitably also lead to the tempering of their overall engagement.

Once an individual spends enough time on this forum, he/she begins to realize that Mopes & Slurps are really 2 sides of the same coin; this is why I no longer get involved in the discussions between these 2 factions, because they're trivial.

True fans lie somewhere between the 2 extremes & their engagement/support does not hinge on win/loss records; it is only based on what their schedule & financial situation allows.

While there exists a direct relationship between winning & revenue, comparing the ticket & merchandise sales, as well as donations shows that there is variance in the correlation coefficient between programs, which is why it's not accurate to say that every program has fair weather fans.

I'm by no means trying to excuse mediocrity or complacency; i'm only trying to underscore the pt that college athletic programs cannot survive without fan support.
