CBS Analysts Pick Indiana Blowout: "This is 2019 LSU"

I don't agree with that. Their defense was dead average.
Their defense had Kristian Fulton, Derek Stingley Jr, Patrick Queen and Chaisson amongst others. Indianas defense is small, undersized and not as athletic. Please elaborate who would start on the 2019 LSU tigers.

Beanie Wells: “That’s a good question. We’ve seen Miami have home games that are half full.

I love how these idiots keep repeating this crap from the past as if it's still relevant.

It’s quite pathetic really for a TV commentator. Some mouth breathing Gator fan online, sure. Former player now TV commentator Beanie Wells….now you sound like a joke.

Could have easily lost to Penn State, Iowa, and Ohio State.

The first 2 did it with physical ground games and controlling the LOS with just a weight and physicality difference in the trenches.

I think they’re in for a rude awakening if Moten and at least one of Damari/OJ can play the first half. Making the more talented team a huge underdog and giving them no shot is exactly what I want. We play significantly better as a 3-10 point underdog.

It’ll be a challenge, but as long as we don’t self implode like Oregon, I’m pretty confident we can win this one.
My biggest concern with this game is their WR's against our DB's. A lot of it is going to depend on how the ref's call the game as well. Like you said, we need either Damari or OJ for AT LEAST the first half.

A pair of CBS Sports analysts are betting heavy against the Canes.

Former Ohio State running back Beanie Wells and former James Madison quarterback Ben DiNucci recently provided their analysis and predictions for the Championship Game.

Ben DiNucci: “I’m watching the Miami front seven versus Indiana’s offense. Indiana has scored 50 points seven different times this year. If you can’t pressure Fernando Mendoza, speed up his process, and force third-and-long, it’s going to be a long night. Bain and Mesidor have 19 sacks between them. They struggled to pressure Chambliss against Ole Miss. They have to speed Mendoza up.”

Beanie Wells: “On the flip side, I’m watching Indiana’s front seven against Miami’s run game. Miami has rushed for 175, 153, and 191 yards the last three weeks. Mark Fletcher Jr. has been dominant. Can Rolijah Hardy and Aiden Fisher slow that down? Because if Miami can’t run the football, they don’t win this game. That run game is the catalyst. It starts with Fletcher’s legs.”

Studio Host: “Miami leads the nation in sack differential at plus-28. Indiana leads the nation in turnover differential at plus-21. That will matter. Hard Rock Stadium holds more than 65,000 fans and tickets are expensive. Beanie, how many Miami fans do you think will be there?”

Beanie Wells: “That’s a good question. We’ve seen Miami have home games that are half full. This is their first national championship in 25 years. You’d think they’d show up, but Indiana fans traveled well to Atlanta. It might be a lot of red in that building.”

Ben DiNucci: “You’ve got to pack the house. I know it’s not easy for students to get from campus to Miami Gardens, but don’t make excuses. You’re a great football team. Get to the games.”

Studio Host: “Indiana is a 7.5-point favorite. Beanie, who do you have?”

Beanie Wells: “Indiana. They’re the best team in the country. They’re disciplined and battle-tested. I’m taking Indiana.”

Ben DiNucci: “Indiana, plain and simple. They’ve been the best team from week one. They have the Heisman winner, the coach of the year, and they play complementary football. This is 2019 LSU. They’re steamrolling people. I’ve got Indiana.”

Studio Host: “Score prediction?”

Beanie Wells: “I’m going 35-10 Indiana.”

Ben DiNucci: “I’ll say 34-17 Indiana.”

I guess the Canes shouldn’t bother to show up, just forfeit the game now.

WR is definitely their strength from a pure next level talent perspective. They throw so many back shoulders and placement balls that defending it isn't really possible. Need someone at DB to take over and just make a play on one.

They also run unique NFL style RPOs. Not attaching a bubble to their RPO but attaching a slot fade or a switch concept. Throwing the ball 15-20 yards down field on an RPO. Most teams are throwing a slant or bubble only on RPO looks. That's a new challenge we haven't seen. Lashlee and Brohm do some of that but not nearly at this level and a lot of it has to do with having a QB capable of it.

Don't get too emotional every time someone picks against Miami.

This is good. It is exactly and absolutely the best scenario. As hard as it is too hear them glaze IU all week it all works in our favor.

Let them suck off IU all week. The more the better.

Just keep the receipts....

No one is giving Miami a chance. It’s pretty wild. We will see in a week
Wild also notes that Indiana, despite being the favorites, is still viewed as the underdog to Miami (or, I guess, the media darlings and the Cinderella story more so than underdogs).

There also seems to be a wishful glee in hoping that Indiana blows Miami out. This Miami team is just not liked by many of the pundits and it makes no sense outside of a clear bias against the program and its history.

Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson.

Fernando Mendoza, Charlie Becker, Elijah Surratt

Sure.

I watched Fernando Mendoza throw for 50% against the worst defense Miami has ever had. Don't gaslight me.

LSU was never behind in the fourth quarter. Even their "close" games were 2-score games until a late score by Texas (0:30), Auburn (2:30), & Bama (1:30).
Indiana- last 30 seconds to win vs PSU (6-6)

Final rankings
LSU beat the #2 42-25, #4 37-10, #6 63-28, #7 42-28, #8 46-41, #14 23-20, #25 45-38
298 to 190

Indiana - OSU (likely 2nd-4th) 13-10, Oregon (likely top 10 x 2) 30-20 & 56-22, Bama likely top 15 38-3, Iowa likely top 25 20-15
157 to 70

A complete Joke to even consider them similar. UGA 2022, which came from behind multiple times vs teams, would be a better comp. Even then, they didn't need a last-second TD.
