CB room

ivey and blades have a lot of starting experience from this year which should help them next season.

Christian Williams and tecory couch are legitimate cb prospects who were flipped from big time schools and can play imo. They should breakout next year .

Miami is going to have to explore all avenues in terms of possibly brining in 2 cbs this cycle
Man you are optimistic, I can't be mad at that. I remember when Jhavonte Dean was supposed to be great because we "flipped" him from Bama.

We'll see, but I do like Blades and Couch though.

I've been saying it for years.

Good CBs are hard to find.....and you can never have too many. This is a spread passing game and you need as many as you can get. Slower CBs can transition to safety. Others can transition to WR if they have hands. If you strike out at CB, you're screwed.

This is an example of why I have harped on roster talent and depth for ages. A few nfl kids per year doesn’t mean squat when our OL can’t block and our DBs are too thin and inexperienced to handle good teams. A talented cfb team means depth, experience, competition, leadership, overall capable units, good qb on offense, and solid line play. And a functioning kicker.

This team is sooooooo far off from being good.

Sad we only have one CB recruit and he didn't even play CB in high school from what I understand. Don't understand how CB recruiting can be so bad. At this point you may have to ask Dallas to come back for another year and have him lose some weight and play CB lol.

I like Couch as well and am excited for him next year. I liked Bandy but never thought he was a #1 CB (which I still don’t think we have). Bandy to me was always a slot cover corner. Blades can take the #2 WR for sure but we need a guy to cover the #1WR which is scary.

With Bandy declaring, we are paper thin at the position. I would assume Blades returns as CB1 which is scary imo, he’s played well this year but he’s not a true lockdown corner. Then we have the young guys. Couch and Williams have promising futures. Ivey is meh. If I were Manny I would hit up the portal HEAVY. We need some experience and competition in the room. And if Rumph is gone (most likely) it would be interesting to see who gets brought in because he can bring some recruits with him. Thoughts?
Yup. We need two Juco or grad transfers (whatever mix) at corner minimum. I have a feeling they will 1. Take a grad transfers and 2. Sign a “gem” in the February period

There has to be development. The portal is just a band aide for a hole here and there as a stop gap. We have systemic problems that need addressed. If Rumph leaves we need a strong recruiter and player developer.
