I want to be excited here so this is me honestly asking to temper my expectations,
has tyrique shown anything in college to warrant our excitement? or are people excited because of his recruiting profile.
gave up an awful lot in coverage at UGA. I know some of that can be misleading being a slot cb but not even our CB's have that kind of resume in coverage

He's our best cover back though, at it's not even close. After seeing Spence and Vilma at LB, I never really worried too much about weight or even height. It's the instincts and diagnostic speed that matter. And Gil has pretty good skills there.

I agree...I think Dunson had his moments in his few stats.

This is such a vague question. It all depends on the offense's personnel, down & distance, strengths and weaknesses of said defenders, etc etc etc.
For example, a lot of yall have Couch pegged as the Nickel/slot CB but what if the OC puts his big WR at slot, or a TE.
Good luck with that. Couch gonna get abused. Better move Blades inside in that situation, or roll a Safety down to cover the TE.
Furthermore, yall are only talking about 3 CB's but the "spread" usually incorporates 4/5 pass catchers. So who's covering the 4th WR? Are we in zone? Cause if we're in man, then it must be Cover-1, which means a Safety is coming down in the box to cover the 4th WR.
If it's almost certainly a pass situation then go Dime, now you got 4 CB's on the field, now you can play 2-man. You can also do a plethora of other things from that personnel, like blitz the slot Corners off both edges and play Cover-0, blitz a Safety and play Cover-1, etc etc etc.

I think some of the packages and plays will be used this year by manny cause we can start to do that with the CB and safety depth we have . The guys we are getting should allow manny to open that defensive play book up
Here y'all go, already annointing another transfer as the starter, I'm not sure how or why most of y'all are already name him starter, but I do know that's why y'all do, so I present to you, the "cart before the horse" brigade, tyrique:
in 2019 and followed it up with 34 tackles, one tackle for loss, and five pass breakups in 2020, along with two punt returns for:
"Stevenson was targeted 46 times in coverage and allowed 36 receptions for 363 yards and one touchdown"
The hypocrisy is to much, now with stevenson coming in, ****'s talking bout this is the best and most talented secondary at Miami since coach diaz has been here, but just recently, coach rumph and banda couldn't recruit. So again, the star whores have United, question, for the star gazers, what was the difference between, Blades & ivey, vs williams & now stevenson, cause alot of y'all ****'s, have and are celebrating the last 2, and have been criticizing the first 2, but according to the nerd recruiting sites, they all "4 stars", and williams couldn't crack the rotation and quit, y'all same clowns still blamed coach rumph, now in comes rique, many in here area already saying he's cb1, that man wasn't cb1 at UGA, y'all really should stop, lol, he hasn't earned a got dam thing yet, and y'all continuously celebrate runners! Maybe, maybe not, the bandwagoneers in here are comical to me, rique consistently got torched at UGA, but people celebrating, and will be happy if he asks in and takes a starting spot, lol, that's not UM football. I don't celebrate the runners and quitters coming in. There situation has to be like similar to trevon hill or bubba bolden, all that running from competition ****, ***** that. Also, it's just like the qb situation here, coach diaz was never going to give perry a fair shot, but all he did was produce and gave us a better chance to win every game he played in, and in the "big games" that man showed up, and showed his value as late as this bowl game, wasn't his fault we lost. That man perry has way more upside than King, but politics rule the day, they just went with the qb they thought was the better runner which is why the qb situation is in the condition it's in now, a rehabbing King, and no other starting experience behind him.
No matter who came in or started, perry stayed at minimum qb2, and never waivered, a True Cane, those are the type of guys who built this program, he was loyal to the class he came in with and loyal to his teammates football wise, and still didn't want to leave here, but we got many in here that got ****ed off when williams left(a non-True Cane)and blamed coach rumph, but are happy that perry is leaving, a real Cane, that's the principles alot of ****'s in here living by, but they still want to see Hurricane football, lol.
To me, all King was is an upgraded jarren williams, that didn't do **** against Clemson nor UNC, in games that were a step up in competition, all those other games meant nothing to me!

He ran from comp because the school wasn’t playing him at the position they told him he was gonna play ??? lol he’s a quitter cause he wants to come home especially during these pandemic times ? I’m riding with whoever is a cane no matter if it’s for a year or 5 years. He definitely is a upgrade to our secondary and the reason why ppl are excited Is because we have guys that are talented and we actually have depth now. Our main guys wasn’t getting it done and me honestly I don’t put the blame solely on them. We need to play to man more often instead of soft zone. Manny went and got a coach that teaches man and likes to run man. So that’s another reason to be excited. This will help especially with the safeties talent we got come in (the two Williams).

ROFL, hopefully you don't believe what you just posted, when did you start watching UM football, was it when blake baker took over the defense. You do realize we had the #1 pass defense in the nation under coach rumph and banda. Have you also realized that unlike coach diaz as the d-co, blake baker is a zone-blitz guy which is why pretty much a our defensive stats have regressed in a major way. It wasn't coach rumph, make any excuse you want for rique, he quitting, it's not like perry, where it's known he wasn't gone get a fair chance to play, rique on the field in multiple spots getting burn and he crying, no why, he wasn't ballin and was falling behind on the depth chart especially if alot of those guys didn't declare for the draft. Bag ran low, had to get close to the crib now and play in a style that he primarily grew up playing in, OF COURSE HE QUIT!
In that bowl game, coach diaz took over the defense, that's when you started seeing True man coverages being played, which made Ok st. shook, until the ref's started aiding & abetting them down the field.
For all the ivey hater's, what happened against Clemson and the 2nd half of that OK st game. LOL, one transfer db comes in and all of a sudden you like many talking bout "we got talent & depth now" lol, what is wrong with you, there was no real depth issues, only ****'s on here complaining like they did when the 2 db's coach rumph coached Ihighschool went elsewhere, from that day on, the star whores turned on em, but all he did was helped to coach the #1 pass defense in the nation, but ****'s were still mad talking but recruiting . The only good reason right now for rique coming in is because we dont know how Blades is going to be able to come back with that respiratory(that ***-hole barry put out)situation, other than that, who recruited and built up this new depth that y'all talking bout now that rique is here, cause before many in here said the db room had no talent or depth!
