I think I heard him say in an interview the kicking operation was better/more consistent here than at fau and that that has made a huge difference for him.

people don't realize how important the snap/hold operation is. kickers can be really sensitive to these things- it's part of why you'll see guys at all levels have huge success in one place and then flame out in another, and vice versa.
