In 2023, after which he was being projected as a Heisman candidate and #1 overall pick, he was #7 in QBR, #5 in PAA, and #5 in EPA.

So in 2024, with the way this kid is talked about, he had to be Brock Glenn bad, right? I’m assuming he totally fell off a cliff and was figured out as a total fraud. So with the putrid running game and a receiving corps that LED THE COUNTRY in drops on catchable balls, how bad were his numbers?

#12 in QBR, #22 in PAA, #15 in EPA.

This dude can play ball. He’ll be compared to Cam all year, which is what it is. It’s not fair, but it’s what happens when you’re the guy after the guy. And I don’t expect Cam-level play. But this kid can ball. He can absolutely win you a lot of football games when he’s got kids around him who produce. And I think he’s got a lot of that this year. I expect big things this season. Easily one of the 10 best QBs in the country.

Absolutely correct, and 99.9% of the Cam comparisons will come from the numbn*ts on CIS. Bc that’s what we do. If there’s something to B*t*h about we will find it and kill it.

I don’t get the “offense will be less explosive” or the “offense will take a big step back” conversations. Miami had the #1 offense last season with 3 undrafted WRs leading the way.

A big part of the offense success was because the offense did not give up many negative rushing plays, mostly due to the tight splits on the offensive line that most on this board cried about all last season. Putting the team in 3rd and short or 3rd and medium most of the time. That’s a system more than a player thing.

Washington State offense ranked 80th in 2022 and 35th in 2023 with Cam Ward as the starter while also having Kyle Williams, who was drafted in the 3rd round as his staring slot.

On the other hand in 2022 at Houston Dawsons offense was 25th with Clayton Tune starting at QB. In 2023 with TVD, Mr INT himself, as the staring QB Miami offense was ranked 25th. Then we all know in 2024 Miami ranked 1st with Cam starting.

Cam vs Carson over the years. You can clearly see Carson has never been in an offense that has featured the pass the same way the offensives Cam has played in. Yet if you look at Cam at Washington and Carson at UGA, Carson passed for 460 more yards, 4 more TDs, and 2 more INTs with 117 less passing attempts. The difference here is the offensive system.

This is what Clayton Tune did under Dawson as the starting QB for Houston during the 2022 season:
  • Games: 13
  • Completions / Attempts: 334 / 496
  • Completion %: 67.3%
  • Passing Yards: 4,074
  • Yards per Attempt: 8.2
  • Touchdowns: 40
  • Interceptions: 10
  • Passer Rating: 158.9
  • Attempts/Game:38.2
  • Yards/Game: 313.4
These numbers would rank Tune #2 all time in single-season passing yards at Miami, just behind Cam Ward (4,313 yards) and #1 in single season passing TDs with 40, surpassing Cam Ward (39 TDs)

This season Miami will be more athletic and faster at WR, just as good if not better at RB, and have the best offensive line Miami has had since the 2001 national championship team. I am not saying this is a guaranteed #1 offense, but I don’t see this offense falling out of the top 10. Dawson has proven that with an accurate QB, his offense puts up crazy passing numbers.

Bottom line is Miami now has a top offensive system, we will all see how the new player do in it.

But man if it does work out,

That is because neither of the statements are the same. One means "yardage gained per play will be less" and the other says "will not be as good".

Yet Cam Wards AY/A is almost twice as high as Carson Becks for the 2024 season, which also explains why Cam Ward threw for 900 yards more compared to Beck with only nine more attempts. As much as I understand the argument that you are trying to make, we threw the ball vertically all the time because Wards strength was not the dink-and-dunk (which became fairly apparent over the course of the season with him trying to play hero ball).

Also far more unproven to start the season. Losing the #1 receiver in the schools history and George will matter to a greater extent that people may realize and we will not find out what we have until ND. Also, losing Arroyo will be massive unless Lofton has got the route running down and Schott can translate his athletic comparisons with Bowers to the football field.

Nobody has ever said that. This offense will regress to an extent and it will score points differently. Beck will receive less pass attempts for obvious reasons, including his elbow injury and the fact that his receivers will need time in the beginning to gel. But even if we score a full TD + PAT less compared to last season, we will still be a Top 6 scoring team - if we scored ten points less, it´d still be Top 25. We will run the ball more and the vertically throwing will be toned down - which is not a bad thing or makes anything worse.

The biggest difference for Beck will not be the fact that he has a talented O-Line or receivers who do not drop every pass and most certainly not the fact that he has 25 different Latina women waiting in his dorm room once he kicks the **** out of ND - its the fact that he plays for an actual offensive coordinator and not the moron named Bobo.
