Carson Beck Heisman

Let them continue to sleep on him based on preconceived notions. Let that chip on his shoulder become a boulder. He is already locked in. He already feels disrespected. Let them keep saying Ty Simpson is the Heisman favorite. They are not prepared for what they are creating
He’s been very efficient so far and If he can up his game a bit, he’s got a legitimate shot.

His time to win or lose it is definitely here.

Hes got to take it to the next level over the next seven weeks
the problem is that he may not get the chance to really air it out... Mario likes to run the ball/control the game/time (if he can) and also it may be the wisest way to play with 7 straight games and a possible 8 straight with up to 3 or 4 more for the playoffs... it's a long season and with our dominant lines, controlling the game and owning time of possession with long methodical drives makes a lot of sense even though it's not as exciting... I think as long as the opponent lets us (doesn't sell out to stopping the run), we will be a run heavy team...

think michigan 2023 type team... they only passed the ball 40% of the time and ran 60%....

i don't think we'll be that low but we're currently at 45 passing/55 rushing...

He’s a contender while playing one of the toughest schedules so far. He’s going to be around 30 tds and 8 ints by ACCG on the undefeated #1 team in the country at Miami. He’ll be in NY for the award. Winning? I think he and Bain may chop some votes

I see this michigan team type stuff come up and to me the main thing about that squad was Jesse Minter defense and Connor Stallions.. The splits pre and post connor stallions is eye opening. Unless we got him on payroll there is other more impressive offenses to emulate.

But agree overall, he wont get chance to air it out. Even though our run numbers dont really indicate that we are dominating run game like some think. Lets see how it plays out.

Think we're closer to 2022 Michigan. That 2023 team allowed like 10 pts per game and the offense almost always had the ball. Also, we still don't have a dominate RB. None of our guys has had a Donovan Edwards vs OSU game.

He's on pace for these numbers:

265/361 (73.4%), 3,153 yards, 29 TDs, 8 INTs

That's *probably* not enough to win the Heisman, but two things:

1. We don't know what the competition will look like at the end of the year
2. He has played the hardest schedule in the country to date, with several of those games in the rain

At the current pace, he's probably not going to get there. However, if we actually play the last 7 games in good weather, we know the competition is going to get much easier. If he can get to maybe 35 TDs and closer to 3500 yards, he can definitely win it, if we go undefeated.

Remember, this was Cam, in 12 games. I did Beck's pace off 13 games:

293/435 (67.3%), 4,123 yards, 36 TDs, 7 INTs, also 204 yards and 4 TDs rushing.

And that wasn't nearly good enough to win it. But, we lost 2 games.

Beck has a shot, but only if we go undefeated, and only if he picks up the pace a little bit. He needs to have a couple 300+ yard games with 3+ TDs here going forward. And keep winning.

A 13-0 QB with those numbers will be hard to beat.

The South Florida game is the best way to predict what he's going to do the rest of the way. He's going to light these teams up.

He could absolutely win it. He doesn't look like a real Heisman winner now, but his story is still being written. The arm still isn't fully fully healed, but its coming around. Difference between USF/UF game and FSU game was obvious.

i dont think they vote by region anymore (i believe thats what happened in 02 with dorsey and mcgahee)

Obviously, a lot will depend on whether or not Dawson, and Mario for that matter, decide to let Carson loose or stick to the ground and pound.

If Miami stays undefeated he has a great shot. There isn’t another player that is dominating so beck can win it as the qb on the best team.

Personally, if that were the case, my vote would go to Bain. But I think the type of person that votes for the Heisman would vote Beck.

Beck or Jeremiah Smith would be the ideal winners since they are the biggest names

Simpson won’t hang around because of their schedule

Beck and Mendoza have the inside track there

Smith will have to go nuts but I’m sure they’re rooting for him in New York

Mario loved every minute of being in New York with the Heisman campaign don’t you doubt for one second that he wants to maybe be the only guy who gets to go there two years in a row
