For those that don’t know, she is the sole representative from the ACC on the CFB Playoff committee. She is currently the athletic director at Virginia, and yes, she has ties to the SEC as well.

With that said, she’s probably our only hope. It’s her job to make our case to everyone else in that room. I know some of you are skeptical that she can get this done, but I’d prefer to hope for the best. And I plan to go down fighting.

I sent her an email yesterday. Will she even open it? Probably not. But if there is even a 0.1% chance it helps, it’s worth a shot. I love this team, man. The passion I have for the Canes is unmatched. I don’t watch the NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLB — so I’m going to do my part, even if my efforts fall on deaf ears. **Edit - she also has a Twitter**

Here’s what I said in my email:

Dear Ms. Williams,

First off, congratulations on your school making it to the ACC championship game. They deserve it after having such an awesome year.

I’m writing to you asking for your assistance: can you please be the voice of reason in that committee room on Tuesday? You might be our only hope.

The Miami Hurricanes deserve to be AHEAD of Notre Dame in the upcoming rankings. Even from an objective standpoint, the choice is clear.

Besides beating them head to head, Miami has had a wider margin of victory against 3 of the 4 common opponents they share with Notre Dame — NC State, Pitt, and Stanford.

Additionally, when you examine computer metrics, there is next to zero daylight separating these two teams.

Strength of Record:

Miami - 14
ND - 13

Strength of Schedule:

Miami — 44
ND — 42

Game Control:

Miami — 6
ND — 5

Efficiency:

Miami — 7
ND — 5

When the resumes are this similar, head-to-head matchups have to be the deciding factor; otherwise, why play the games? Notre Dame should NOT get more credit for losing to Miami than Miami gets for beating ND.

The argument since the first week of the rankings has been that ND looks like the better team. They don’t anymore. The last month proves that. When all else is equal, Miami deserves the nod, especially considering the fact that these two teams played already and Miami WON!

Please make this case to the committee, as it would be a grave injustice to keep things the way they are.

As Nick Saban, the greatest college football coach in history, said on College Gameday:

“If Miami finds their way into the playoffs, they will be the MOST DANGEROUS team in the playoff.”

I appreciate you for taking the time to read this email. It means the world to our entire fan base. The ACC does not have to tolerate continued disrespect, and I know you will do the best that you can to enlighten the rest of the committee.

Last thing this UGA alum wnats is Carson Beck in the playoffs on their side of the beacket
You may be right, but I’m going to hope for the best.

I’m 30 years old and barely remember this program being relevant. I was 6 when we won the national title in 2001. My parents let me stay up to watch. Since then, I’ve known nothing but misery. I want a shot at this playoff. I know we have the team to compete for a title. We’re peaking at the right time.

Before you sent this email did you do any reading about sending emails out of network and what not to do?

I ask because if you’re using Gmail it’s very tough to get by their spam filters (for good reason) but there’s some non-shady ways you can increase chances of it reaching her

Whether she reads it and cares is a different story

Great email, just copied and sent to her as well. Keep it going on all fronts.

I did double check some things. No way of telling for sure if it gets to her, but again, it’s worth a shot.

If she doesn't reply, send her this:

First, we need to focus on more than ND. Second, Ms. Williams is happy as **** knowing UVA is headed to the playoffs & could care less about Miami. Finally, we might suggest Ms. Williams be more creative when it comes to scheduling non-conference games.

We’re not getting in over anyone else. This is also assuming BYU loses to Tech. ND is our argument. It’s them or bust.

According to Pate, they use a computer. They pretend to deliberate, and consider each team’s pluses and minuses, but that’s all bull****.

A Computer spits out rankings, and they can adjust it if they choose. So my question is what algorithm are they using?
