Although Canon has made it clear he is in no rush to announce his verbal pledge, several predictions last week suggested he was leaning toward Clemson. While he did enjoy his visit with the Tigers, he quickly shut those rumors down.

“The visit was great, and I enjoyed myself,” Canon said. “But I was kind of confused when everyone kept crystal-balling me and stuff.”

Miami has been hosting a parade of big-time kids on campus this spring. Here is the latest on some top targets:

- As first reported on the CanesInSight podcast this morning (and later confirmed by on3's Steve Wiltfong), Miami is surging for #1 overall player OT Jackson Cantwell (Nixa, MO). He had a great unofficial visit last week and likes the Coral Gables lifestyle. More importantly, he has strong relationships with Miami's OL staff and believes in their development plan. It will be a battle with Georgia, Oregon and others, but this is a real situation.

With the Portal closed and the #1 prospect in America committed to the Canes, it's time to turn to the rest of the class. Here is the latest on 2026 recruiting:

- On Jackson Cantwell, a source said Cantwell was the most physically powerful prospect he'd seen in 15 years. He also commented on Cantwell's intelligence and poise in answering NIL questions in the presser. "Whatever his ceiling is, he'll reach it." I'm told he has laser timed shuttles in the 4.7 range. Needless to say, the Hecht is jubilant about the commitment.
