Good idea for small devices with unique shapes like wearables. Wonder how much the weight is affected, that’s probably the most important aspect if you’re talking a small drone or AI powered helmet or something. Cause really what this seems it is betting on is those constraints are more important than the high volume low cost (and superior performance id assume) of current cylindrical/pouch cells to design around.
