Canes were 7-0 in 2013, finished 9-4

We turn the corner when…

-Players across the board aren’t flat footed and slow
-handle success and not let underdogs hang around.
-tackle
-play well in all 3 phases.
-hire a STC

Currently there are too many guys that don’t have the twitch to play here. I’d take VTs secondary over ours and likely their DL as well.

We can’t handle any success. We’ve always been the kings of September, fade in October and disappear in November.

Tackling is *** and Cal has 2 RBs that are better than VTs. Need to tackle much better

We haven’t played a complimentary football game since CMR and ND 2017/ VT 2017. And we routinely make a mistake that turns into 3 more consecutively. If we start playing sound through all phases we’ll be on to something.

We need to make special teams special again at Miami. It’s starts with hiring a seasoned professional. We haven’t had a special teams coordinator since Randy’s regime (Panuzzio). What we have right now ain’t it.

Haven’t turned the corner till you see multiple nfl high value our guys as top 20 first round players regularly. And do perform at a high value on Sundays. You will know then we possibly winning at a high level at that time.
Dudes. And at varied position groups, not just "3 great WRs" or "2 great LBs."

Lol mane you trolling. I’ll let you out of this one.
Not trolling at all.

The only teams in the SEC I think we'd lose to is Bama, Tenn, Texas & maybe Ole Miss.

Auburn is garbage
Miss ST is garbage
South Carolina is garbage
Kentucky is garbage
Vanderbilt is garbage
Florida is garbage
Arkansas is mediocre
Oklahoma is mediocre
TAMU is mediocre

LSU has a good Offense, but their Defense isn't good

Mizzou is good, but their QB is pretty average & due for multiple bad games.

UGA is severely overrated.

Maybe you've just been indoctrinated with the SEC propaganda more than me, but I watch these teams play every week & other than Texas, Tenn & Bama, none of them are these invincible juggernauts you may believe them to be.

why are you bothering to try to ruin our hopes? And even their chance to have a perfect team.

I don't agree with the Playmaker. We haven't turned a corner. We won't have turned the corner until the season is over, and we look up to see us standing undefeated headed into the playoffs.

2013 Miami Hurricanes faced a similar schedule and had lots of talent on that team, too. Guys like Perryman, Duke, Dorsett, Allen Hurns, Clive Walford, Stephen Morris, Tracy Howard, older Linder, Flowers, Chickillo, etc.

In Game 6, we played UNC and had many of the same failures we saw vs. Va Tech on Friday. Had to come from behind after Morris had 4 interceptions. Everyone was convinced we had turned the corner. In game 8, we lost to a Crab Legs-led #3 FSU, and we could write that off given his heroics in that game. But then we lost to VT and Duke in quick succession.

We don't face anyone like Winston this season. So how does 2024 sustain winning and especially avoid beating itself against lesser opponents? We've been total *** the last 20 years in conference play. And I can't take another 9-3 season with a secondary bowl loss.

We almost lost to a team that got beat by Vandy. Some will try to claim it’s bc we are everyone’s Super Bowl.. (maybe some truth, mostly not) but the fact is, we are one dimensional on offense & our passing defense is sub-par, along with our depth.

My claim isn’t that we can’t hang with an SEC team listed above. My claim is that if/when Miami turns the ball over 3x & miss every tackle possible (aka play like sh*t), they won’t get by with it in a real conference

If you think we’re beat up now (5 opponents combined record of 10-15), imagine if we weren’t playing bottom feeders. Look at how bad our opponents really are.

We've turned at least A corner if we go in and bludgeon Cal...this is a classic game every team over the last couple of decades would lose like clockwork.
We'll see...

The 2013 Miami Hurricanes were totally crushed with injuries after the FSU game. They also entered the season with only 75 scholarship players, so the bandwidth for injuries was even more narrow. They had only four defensive tackles and seven scholarship wide receivers entering the season. Average experience of the cornerback room was 0.7 years.

Here's how the 2024 team compares to 2013:

Putting Vandy in italics has made me rethink everything

And UGA almost lost to Kentucky.
And Bama almost lost to USF at home.
And Tennessee only put up 25 points against mediocre Oklahoma team.

We'll see how we respond. I expect us to dominate the ACC the rest of the season like we did UF and USF rather than for the rest our games to look like VT.

You're assuming that every single game we would play would end up like VA Tech??

Couldn't it be argued that every team you suppose we would lose to could also have a bad game as well?

And what exactly makes the SEC a "real conference", as opposed to any of the other P4? Are you saying that even their bad teams would just dominate every other conferences teams, or are you saying that the SEC doesn't have any bad teams?

@Lamp

TAMU - lost to Notre Dame
LSU - lost to USC
UF - lost to Miami
Arkansas - lost to OK ST
Vanderbilt - lost to Georgia ST
Auburn - lost to Cal
Miss ST - lost to Toledo & AZ ST

(I'll also include almost losses since your argument hinges on us almost losing to VA Tech.)

Oklahoma - almost lost to Houston; 16-12
South Carolina - almost lost to Old Dominion; 23-19

So what exactly is so scary about the SEC that Miami would lose to all these average teams? And how is it possible that these scary teams have already lost games to non-SEC teams if everybody else is so much weaker than them??

Is it possible that the SEC, is exactly like every other P4 conference in that they're a top heavy conference where the good teams are good & the bad teams are bad?

So again, I'll ask, why would Miami lose 3+ games if we played a SEC schedule in a "real conference"?
