I am going to put my faith in Roman telling the truth that there was greater than zero chance that if Miami had lost to App State, he could have been fired. This has to be viewed as the same situation.

Serious question - what makes that block illegal? Just that he hit him too hard when the defensive player was looking? If he hit him less hard would it be ok? I mean, he has the right to block him, right?
They ruled 'blindside blocks' illegal a number of years ago. 'Player safety' was the reason - defenceless player.

When I played S you were simply taught to keep your head on a swivel 'cos someone was always head hunting you.
