Canes To Adidas Confirmed

ITS ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE

From here? It's been going downhill for the last decade. Now we'll get some clown suits to go with this awful coaching scheme. Appropriate. I'm just wondering what happens when we hit rock bottom. Program shuttered? These unis are just another way for this admins to steal more money from this program. They're like buzzards with roadkill!

I don't want addidas but would happily rock their gear if we have a new coach.

Truly amazing.

Ya'll bring up the university endowment and various fundraising efforts (Millennium 1 and 2) that generate funds earmarked for various academic ventures as a sign that "UM has the money but they're just too cheap to build a stadium, hire a good coach, etc, etc."

Then, when UM actually DOES something to make money that is earmarked for athletics only (move to the ACC for a steady paycheck, go with Adidas for an extra 3 mil/yr), those same people complain.

is AG's nut sack salty?

Wouldn't know. When you get done sucking on it, please inform the board.

Serious bidness...WTF does this have to do with AG?

This is gonna affect basketball recruiting, it did for Lousville.

Larranaga shiuld be ****ed, football not so much

The move wont be bad. They did a good job with the Army All American Bowl uniforms and looking at there list of schools we would take priority ..

Those jerseys were terrible. Numbers aligned at an angle, names on the back of the helmets instead of the jersey itself, the terrible tiger striped socks.

I just told Carter, and he was like, "Why? Adidas sucks!" Even he knows.

Cmon Hucks...don't turn your son into a sheep too. I love you guys but stop...they're clothes man. We're talkin bout clothes. It won't kill you to put on an Adidas jersey...stop being so superficial. Life is too short...as you guys can attest to!

RGIII wears adidas so does D-Rose...coincidence, I hate adidas cleats they're trash
proxy.php

When you wear them or when you watch someone else where them?

I've worn them once, didn't like the feel at all, I'm a Nike loyalist through and through, plus I don't want to see our players wearing inferior products

LOL at inferior products. GET THE **** OUT HERE

Bra strap, never forget.

It doesn't matter if Nike's ideas and designs regarding UM were horsehyt. We have to stay with Nike because some people camp out for a week to buy the latest Jordans and crimes are committed over the latest Jordans.

I'm certain Lawsom flipped to Virginia Tech because he knew we were switching to Adidas. Uniforms are clearly our biggest problem right now.

Is this an extra $3million per year, or total?

It's the Nike contract (probably in the $3M-$4M range) plus an extra $3M per year.

Probably one of the biggest apparel deals in college sports.

The article says our deal is most likely in the Asu ballpark of 8 years 33m (4.125 a year).

I don't see how it could be $3m more per season than Nike if it's only $4.125m per season going forward unless Nike was only paying Miami a little over a million dollars per year.

IMO Nike was probably paying us in the 1.5 to 3m range (pure speculation)

Nike should have paid us more as compensation for the trash uniforms and clam logo they foisted on the team and fans. UM should sue them for the punitive damages they gave them.

Miami's payout was said to be low from Nike. **** Oregon only gets paid 2.8 million a year from Nike... Bottom line Adidas is paying big bucks right now. Michigan getting 8.2 million a year, Louisville 7.7 million a year and ucla 7.5 million a year. One thing, only part of the money will be straight up cash the other will be the form of apparel and other gear.

Yup because that National Title, and Kansas Jayhawks, along with Michigan are sure struggling in BBall. GTFO

Yeup. Nike's act was so egregious the court would definitely rule in our favor

If it was closer to the $1.5m figure, it sounds like UM was willing to take the financial hit to stay with Nike until Adidas made them an offer too good to pass up. Which might be the first recorded instance of UM actually working over someone else to get more money.

Lolz

I never said it affects on field performance, just that Lousiville lost a recruit because they weren't a Nike school. And that's a fact.

Porter

Jim Larranaga, on ACC conference call, says shoe companies can affect recruiting but the quality of a program is the most important factor.

"Make no mistake: money is the primary factor in the switch. Adidas’ winning bid is believed to be in the ballpark of the eight-year, $33 million pact it announced with Arizona State last month. That pays ASU $3 million more than its old deal with Nike."

ASU's eight-year, $33M Adidas deal is $3M higher than their old deal with Nike. We do not know if this is $3M per year or $3M in total.

Either way, the article is not saying that Miami's current deal is $3M more per season than Nike's deal was. They are talking about ASU. We do not know where this deal stands with regard to our previous Nike deal and we do not even know what this total deal is.
