Canes should move to SEC

SEC folks know that they can come in here and cherry pick our kids at will down here. No way they let us in so we can keep them home.

No point in talking about this. The Gators would never allow Miami or FSU to join the SEC as this is they're one advantage over either program in terms of recruiting.

Great idea. If we upped our competition level we'd rise to the occasion and be better. I think UM has gotten a little bored dominating the ACC.

People around here still promulgating the myth of $EC "superiority"? I thought we were over that. That said, no reason to go there, suck AND lose academic reputation points. Plus, no need to bring more people than necessary to SLS that speak with twangs.

ESPN just released that they have the weakest OOC schedule of all the power 5 next season. They operate in that inferiority complex two years outside of winning a championship to "inferior conferences" Miami is fine where they are. Sec is a coward conference

im probably the only one that think the ACC is a better conference as far as getting guys ready for the NFL, i keep hearing about the SEC but every year the NFL draft are full of ACC guys, alot of these SEC guys go to the league and flop i think we good in the ACC.

Only a handful of very good coaching staffs though.

Clemson
FSU
Duke

I think GT is good when they have the right QB
UNC will surprise this year

Lot of question marks

Missouri was mixed in the Big 12 under Pinkel, some very good years, some mediocrity:

Gary Pinkel (Big 12) (2001–2011)
2001 Pinkel 4–7 3–5
2002 Pinkel 5–7 2–6
2003 Pinkel 8–5 4–4 L Independence
2004 Pinkel 5–6 3–5
2005 Pinkel 7–5 4–4 W Independence
2006 Pinkel 8–5 4–4 L Sun
2007 Pinkel 12–2 7–1 W Cotton 5 4
2008 Pinkel 10–4 5–3 W Alamo 16 19
2009 Pinkel 8–5 4–4 L Texas
2010 Pinkel 10–3 6–2 L Insight 18 18
2011 Pinkel 8–5 5–4 W Independence
Gary Pinkel (SEC) (2012–present)
2012 Pinkel 5–7 2–6
2013 Pinkel 12-2 7-1 1st (East) W Cotton 5 5
2014 Pinkel 11-3 7-1 1st (East) W Citrus 11 14

Texas A&M and Missouri were pretty bad in the big 12. They look pretty comfy there

Texas Am hasn't had a good coach in almost 20 years. Sumlin has them respectable. I don't know much about Mizzou.
Missouri was very good in big12

Exactly. NOBODY expected Mizzou and A&M to have the immediate success they had in the mighty $EC as they were mid-tier Big 12 teams. Just another crack in the mythical foundation of that conference.

The only reason the OP would get excited about a slate of $EC conference games is because eSECpn & SECbs would have him believe that a nooner against Miss St or Kentucky is somehow superior football than against Pitt or UVag. All the conferences are top heavy but only one gets falsely propped up every freaking year both in quality and in tradition.

Well, they are the better conference in sports overall, so what's your point?

Also, how exactly has being in the SEC cost Vanderbilt academic reputation points?

The original post was accurate in that it would make for more interesting football games, but that's about the only place it makes sense.
